I ordered 2 of the $9.00 "Housebrand" 256MB memory modules for my laptop knowing full well that I was gonna get what I paid for. I was pleasantly supprised at how quickly the package arrived, however, upon opening the package, a DHL envelope, I had a bad feeling. What I pulled out of the non-rigid envelope was a wad of bubble wrap with what looked like memory modules inside. Long story short, the memory was destroyed by static discharge from the bubble wrap or was some other way dead-on-arival. This was Friday night. I immediatly put my old memory back in, emailed customer support with the issue, and waited. Finally I get fed up waiting and call the customer support line on Wednesday. The fairly friendly operator said they had received the email and were going through the RMA process. That same day I got an email saying that "it is unlikely that both modules are defective". Peaved, I emailed back explaining again how the items were packaged. Finally friday, I recieved an RMA form to send back with the defective items. It is funny that they require you to "Place the original manufacturer's box into a second corrugated cardboard box" when they couldn't do me the same courtesy.
I'm still waiting for a response.
As bad as my experience has been, the price of the modules was something unbelievable, so even if these guys jerk me around with the rediculous shipping charges, I will still be ahead with saving money (provided I actually get a working replacement set sent to me - we shall see).
Still, I would not recommend this store to my worst enemy.
