Circuit City

One minute after ordering something from Circuit City, it can not be canceled. And you are in for a lot of frustration. As you will have to return it to a brick and mortar Circuit City store. And there the red tape begins. And I am not certain, but probably a restocking fee will also be assessed. So be 100% certain you want the product as you will be receiving it regardless.

Long wait at the ordered thru web check out area. employees walked right by me, without even acknowledging I was standing there. Took approx 15 minutes before someone even told me that they would be right with me. then took another 10 minutes for them to come over

I ordered a digital camera. Received a confirmation to pick it up in 24 hours and that it will be held back for 10 or 14 days. bla bla... Once I arrived at the shop they said that the camera was sold out but I can get a much more expensive model if I wish...
They simply show misleading bargain offers in the www and get your money but do not deliver what your ordered.
In two words they are teasers and chiseler.
I strongly recommend not to shop at Circuit City.

Purchased HP Computer with advertised $100.00 company rebate online.Picked up computer at Port Richey FL store.
Was told to get rebate form online.Ad for this computer had just been removed online so couldn't get rebate form online.Store would not give me rebate form either.Their 800 number for customer service is a nightmare.You don't want to hear the runaround.After hours back to store and emails online and more time on 800 number they refused to send me the rebate form.I had saved the flier with the ad and showed it to the store and offered to fax it to 800 person I was talking with.Apparently no one is in charge and no one cares.Their customer service looks like their stock price chart.Headed for bankruptcy?Willing to lose lifelong customers over $100.00 rebate?

Horrible customer service. Items ordered 11/23 & 12/3 not only didn't arrive for Christmas, they didn't arrive at all yet my card was charged. Calling customer service results in a call to an overseas call center employee reading from a script. I was told my items were reshipped by 2 different people, only to find out a week later they weren't because they didn't get the OK from corporate to resend them. Getting my credit card credited for all 4 items took at least 4 phone calls to 4 different people. Emailing customer service does no good either, someone overseas cuts and pastes the same professionally written (by an American, I'm sure) copy into your reply, they don't actually read them nor do they investigate your problem.

I have just had rock bottom awful treatment at the Oyster Point Circuit City in Newport News, VA. I ordered something online, for store pickup. Received a confirmation email about 12 hours later. Next evening, printed the email and headed down to the store. Waited in 2 lines to hear that they didn't have it. Tried to exercise the guarantee for a $24 gift card, they refused to give it to me. They refused to order me the item and price match. And they were really rude, treating me like an idiot! So, I left (angrily) and today (when I had cooled off) called customer service. The call took about 45 minutes, including wait time, and then he tells me he can't help me and I should call the store again. I told him I won't do that, and could I speak to his supervisor. His supervisor wasn't available. I asked if he could have his supervisor call me back, and he hung up on me.

I'm done with this company. Buyer beware!

I saw the ad in the Sunday flyer and ordered the camera on-line as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter. We will know more about the quality of the camera after Christmas morning. Ordering and delivery was quite speedy.

The online offer stated there was a $20 rebate, later after receiving the battery back up but no rebate form I went back to see the add and guess what it doesn't mention a rebate. I didn't copy the orginal ad and didn't question the confirmation being full price so I didn't bother to complain. You got me once but it will not happen again!!

I ordered an item for my Olympus 300E camera. I received a very speedy delivery (two days), but was sent an item for an Olympus 500e that wouldn't fit my camera. I returned the item and asked to be reimbursed for the shipping charge. Neither Circuit City's Citrus Heights store nor Circuit City.com would reimburse me for the $3.49 shipping charge --even though a store manager (and also a telephone salesperson at CircuitCity.com) admitted their mistake, as well as the unfairness of their policy. While their delivery was unusually speedy, their order was totally inaccurate, and their customer service was poor. I would not do business with this store again.

In their circular for prices starting 10/7/2007, Circuit City
advertised a 1Gb Sony Micro vault usb drive for $4.99 stating a savings of $25. When I went to purchase the drive, the price was actually $14.95. Ok, a misprint, it happens.
I left the store empty-handed, not happy about wasting my time and my $2.67/gallon gas.
I get home and check my email. A new email from Circuit City shows a Sony 2Gb Micro Vault for $19.95. I click on the link and am directed to a 4Gb Micro Vault for $34.99.
After searching the site for the advertised 2Gb drive I find it for $44.99
What is going on with Circuit City?

Circuit City has been jerking me around for the past month. I ordered an LCD television they had in their advertisement on 8/31. It is now 9/28 and I have no television, just plenty of excuses. Terrible customer service and real indifference to my frustration. They can't even tell me the status of my order.

I put money down and got bupkis for it. I've been promised a television every week since I made my purchase and get nothing but bogus information. Their communication stinks. I called last Saturday to follow up (god forbid someone from Circuit City was to call me!!) and they told me the television was delivered on Friday. Imagine my surprise when I drove down to the store, only to be told that they made yet another mistake. The television was never actually delivered. These guys are about as smart as a bag of doorknobs.

I am never doing business with Circuit City again!

Delivery speed - still waiting 8 days later after paying extra for expedited delivery.

Customer service - lacking in every way - Apparently their delivery service dropped the package off at the wrong address to the wrong person. I asked for updates and have heard none. I wrote an email requesting information and asking about any actions I could take to help expedite the process, but never heard ANYTHING whatsoever in return.

Outcome - I never will order from Circuit City online again. Despite any cost savings one may gain from CC, I would highly recommend weighing the advantages/disadvantages (meaning I would have to be saving at least $200 from the nearest competitor) before purchasing.

Horrid experience! I will never buy from them again. They listed a TV on sale and 4 weeks later all I have is the bill... still haven't received the TV. I have been calling and calling and they tell me "We don't have any in and don't know when we will". Then why did you advertise them and take my money??? I'm very frustrated.

If you look at ALL of the positive reviews they are from the same person "Circuit City Shopper".. Gee who could that be?

There was a sales promotion that stated you received a remote wirless receiver, printer, and software free with mail in rebate. These items were not free but actually half priced with the mail in rebate. I don't know why a discount can't be given when a purchase is made and Circuit City negotiate the rebate. I will never do this again. It didn't provide the mechandise the promotion promised and the laptop computer DVD drive broke on the second day. Two weeks later I'm still dealing with Acer, the manufacturer, to get it fixed. From beginning to end this whole purchase has been nothing but a headache and not worth the time or money spent (over $1,000).
