This was my first experience with online ordering and in store pickup and my first use of CircuitCity.com. When I go into a store I get confused with all the high tech gadgets and usually winding buying the wrong thing or more than I need. To avoid that, I decided to try ordering online.

The mission was specific. To expand our internet capability my company needed to purchase a wireless router.

This meant that I, Ms. Tech Challenged, would have to actually select and make the purchase. Plus, I had to be sure that I came back to the office with what we needed to get hooked up and fully online.

Just thinking about this made my knees shake. The last I heard, routers are purchased in the hardware store! Not, in electronics stores.

I pointed my browser to the online store and took the plunge. Thankfully, the website is extremely user friendly. The visible search box is easy to find. Typing in "wireless router" brought up a broad array of choices from different companies. It also has a handy compare feature so you can view items side to side.

After a little while my selection was made. I was ready to check out and was prompted to create an account. This too, was simple.

At checkout, several shipping options were given. I chose the "24 Minute In Store Pickup), entered the company credit card number and was done. In a moment, the email confirmation appeared in my email. All I had to do now was go get the router.

So, ok. I'm a little skeptical. The process was so smooth that I kept waiting for the proverbial "shoe to drop". Easy choice, easy selections, a user friendly website... It all seemed too good to be true and I wondered what surprises awaited me at the store.

None. No surprises. Just more of the same great service I had already experienced from the website.

My nearest Circuit City is a brand new store. It's clean and welcoming. The pick up area was well marked and easily visible. There was no line.

Amazingly, the clerk was actually knowledgeable about the item I purchased. She answered my questions and was friendly and efficient. The entire pick up took only a few minutes. You just can't beat the experience!

In no time I was back at the office looking for a teenager to hook up the router. It does just what we need and was easy to install. This is proof positive that I, Ms. Technially Challenged, was able to use the Circuit City. Com website and come back with the right equipment for the job.

If I can do it, anyone can! I'm already trying to figure out what to buy next!
