Chiasso

I placed an order on November 11th. I have not heard anything from them within the next 12 days so I went online and try to check the status on my order. It said that my order doesn't exist so I wrote an e-mail to their customer support and received this answer:

Your order was corrupted in the system somehow. Unfortunately we don't have way to find these, that is why we don't let you know sooner.  I can go ahead and replace your order over the phone.

So I had to give their customer service a phone call and the really nice gentleman on the phone explained me that my order has never been placed because my card wasn't verified. A notice about that would have been nice from Chiasso. So now I have a new order and have to wait another 1-2 weeks for my items to arrive - if they arrive.

I recently ordered 3 floral panels at Chiasso and at the end only received 2. I called customer service and they quickly apologized for the mistake and said they would send another one immediately.

I waited for another 10 days and nothing happened. I called them several times and they would always say that they are having trouble with their computers and asked me to call back. Finally I received an email yesterday saying that the panels I ordered are out of stock.

Please don't ever buy at Chiasso again.

I always look forward to recieving their print catalog & their website is great too. Great selection of modern, cool items. A good place to look for moderatly priced unusual gifts. I've ordered twice & delievery has been a bit slow - my christmas present ordered Dec 17 showed up Jan 5... a bit dissapointing, but great quality when the merchandise arrived.

Here are my 3 experiences with Chiasso - I think they speak for themselves.

1. About 3 years ago I ordered a gift. Despite an email confirming my order, they never sent it to me so I forgot all about it. Almost a year(!) later, without a warning, my credit card was charged and the gift arrived in my mail, cheaply made and not at all what the beautiful photograph and the high price would suggest.

2. About 2 years ago I ordered another gift. I know, I know, what was I thinking... Well, this time the gift did arrive. However, it was just as disappointing - again, the beautiful photo and the high price made me expect something better than a cheap toy with some paint already peeling off. In addition, the wrap paper ($15 extra) was literally crumpled in a ball around it and the message card that was supposed to be attached was missing.

3. Immediately after that, I requested the catalogs to stop. Guess what - I've been calling them asking to stop the mailings and getting more and more catalogs ever since...
