Cabela's

I first came across the Cabela's name through their advert in Outdoor Photography and ended up browsing their website. When I was on a trip to New York, I visited their store in Hamburg, PA and was very, very impressed. I wish that there was something similar in England.

For someone living in England, their range of goods and the prices were excellent. Having the goods shipped to England can increase the price significantly; 20% shipping charge for surface delivery, 40% shipping charge for UPS, plus the UK import duties and VAT. However, even when these are included, the overall cost is relatively low.

A few months later, I was preparing for a trip to Alaska and was advised to buy some Irish Setter boots. They are very hard to find in England, but were available from Cabela's so I bit the bullet and ordered a similar Cabela's brand pair from them. This was the first of several orders I have placed with them. The service, particularly by UPS is outstanding. You can track the progress of your parcel on the UPS website and generally it takes only one week from placing the order to it reaching me in England. (Sometimes an order placed with a UK supplier takes longer to arrive!) One further plus point is that they are willing to ship to my office address, rather than my home address.

I would definitely recommend Cabela's.
