I have purchased from buy.com a few times. I have always been pleased with the merchandise. My only problem, they are quick to take your order and charge your credit card but a little bit slow to ship out your order.

DO NOT BUY from buy.com! Their business practice and customer service is beyond shadowy. I followed an online advertisement for a product and received an invoice totaling $59 more than the online price, $15 of which was assessed as a "shipping and handling" charge (which was NOT detailed in the online checkout). I discovered this an hour and a half later when I received the emailed invoice. When I called to cancel my order due to this sneaky charge, the customer service representative said that they have a "15 minute buyer's remorse period." Again, they did not email the invoice until and hour and a half after the purchase was made! When I asked to be put in touch with her [customer support] supervisor, she would not do so and informed me that I had a "50/50 chance" of cancelling the order. The following day, I received an email saying that the order could not be cancelled and that I could either keep the product when it arrived or return it at my own cost, should it be delivered when I am not home. This company is an outrage. PLEASE BE WARY AND DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY.

I ordered some electronics from Buy.com. A few days later I received an email from Buy.com stating that my order was canceled due to an error. Their email was evasive and general. My reply email asked for more specifics on what the error was. They responded with a duplicate of their first email. Four times I tried to get specifics on why my order was canceled, only to get the same form letter evasive reply four times. Very poor customer service. Buy.com shopper beware!

I bought a item from buy.com and they put me on back order without any warning. The customer service was very incompetent and told me they ran out of stock long ago and they will restock and fill my order. weeks passed nothing happened. i email again they still didn't have it. They are terribly incompetent and i was forced to call them in order to cancel.

i purchased a video game Christmas present on 12/11/08. it was sent to california and I live in Pennsylvania. The present never came. After numerous phone calls to customer whom i had communication difficulties with, I made the mistake of re-ordering the product because i had received a $30.00 credit on item. When they reordered they overcharged me on the item. I received the item on Jan 15. 3 weeks after Christmas. I am going to report them to bbb in Calif.

Buy.com customer service (if thats what you want to call it) denied responsibility and basically told me to buzz off. Plus it's almost impossible for me to return the product. I will have to return it to the manufacturer which is a major pain. I will never buy again from Buy.com

Almost impossible to get a straight answer out of them, it's been over a month and still I have not gotton a refund, replacment or anything. It's only for a $40, but still, they sent me an empty box and I've wasted hours trying to get a refund.

I ordered two small items (book and CD) on the site for Christmas delivery, selecting the 2nd Day Air shipping option to ensure delivery before Christmas (as indicated on their site for which shipping options would ensure delivery before then). One of the two items shipped as requested, the other went via standard USPS 4-14 day service. When I inquired with Buy.com about it, they directed me to check with the vendor who actually processed the order (one that I don't have any information other than their name). If Buy.com does not stand behind the orders placed on their web site, then why use them? My advice is to shop directly with the companies fulfilling the orders, and NOT to use this site, as there is no value added.

Buy.com has a decent selection and relatively competitive prices. I've done business with them and recommended them for years.
Recently I purchased Christmas gifts that were unsatisfactory. It happens. I wanted to return them. Normally retailers will allow you to return unwanted gifts up to and beyond Christmas. Retailers commonly extend their return period during the holidays for obvious reasons. But not buy.com. If you purchase gifts from them you better order them very close to Christmas or you'll be stuck with them. There are many other companies that offer extended return options during the holiday season. Not buy.com. They seem to be more interested in making the sale than in satisfying their customers. There is a lot of competition out there that truly care about their customer's satisfaction. Not buy.com. The response from them when I requested a return was a simple "no". I'd rather go to Walmart, Target, or whatever. I will always shop online, but only with companies with a generous return policy and a reputation for good customer service. The customer is always right, except at buy.com. Final word? NEXT! |

If you are looking for a seamless transaction Buy.com is not for you. Complete lack of support, and shipping times vary greatly over what they state on an items page. When item finally did ship I was charged more than the original amount (I had tried to cancel order after the status changed from sent to warehouse to "on order" ... they cancelled my coupon but not the item lol) and polite emails went unanswered. Nope, not even a canned reply from "chuckle" customer service. I did eventually get my item, and it was as advertised, however I never did get the amount they overcharged back nor a reply from them regarding it. I have made other purchases from buy.com that went better ( I had no need to try and make contact with them ) but the estimated ship time was again way off from what the estimate was (i.e. 1-3 days may be more like a week to 10 days before item ships).

I would strongly advise people not to get anything from buy.com. They entice your purchase with special offers that never materialize. I ordered a PS3 as a christmas gift back in July 07 on the basis that they were offering 5 free blue ray dvds with the purchase. Its now december and those dvds never arrived. I've called them numerous times and no one ever answers, once being on hold for 4 hours. Ive sent numerous emails to their customer support and not once has anyone replied. I could have bought the ps3 elsewhere for slighly cheaper and wish I would have. Dont be fooled by this online site like I was.

DO NOT ORDER FROM BUY.COM! TAKE YOUR MONEY TO AMAZON! They will not tell you if an item is not in stock but they will let you purchase it and they will not email you a eta for delivery and then when you try to cancel the order because it has been over a week since ordered and not shipped, they tell you to go ask the place where they are getting it from. I will not get this gift in time for Christmas and now I can't cancel my order through the company. Terrible customer service and not worth the hassle. Don't waste your time or money with this company.
