ordered a laptop that I eventually cancelled due to wait time

Horrid customer service. Brad in India told me a couple of times they would escalate my order to get it out of the processing phase. I ended up cancelling my order and buying the laptop somewhere else.

Their products say "Ships in 1 to 2 business days." DO NOT BELIEVE THIS. They should be out of business sooner than later. Horrible site. If it's too good (read: cheap) to be true, than it's probably a bum deal.

STAY AWAY FROM BUY.COM

Buy.com bait and switch scheme.

I ordered one item, and Buy.com pulled a bait and switch. They charged my credit card for the more expensive item and sent me a lesser item that wasn't even close to what I ordered.
I ordered a top of the line bluetooth ear piece with all the bells and whistles, and what came was just a simple twenty dollar ear piece I could have bought at Wal-Mart.

Trying to get anyone from Buy.com to help was impossible. I had to file a report with my credit card company who investigated it and were appalled at the business practices of Buy.com. They (the credit card company) couldn't even find a comprehensive return policy at Buy.com for my order.

Lesson learned, both Buy.com and Google Check out are fraudulent companies.

TIME WASTERS

Buy.com cancelled my order "for my protection" (order #40596257) then raised the price on site by 50.00 the following day. Then suggested I reorder??? Company offers $10.00 off next purchase but gives your CC # to a 3rd party company that charges your card 12.00 each month and will not stop until you report your card #s' stolen to your bank. Not only do you not get your product they obtain your CC# to charge you 12.00 each month. This site only tries to sell you things you won't get at the price on the site. They collect credit card numbers only for other uses. This company obviously writes their own reviews.

The worst online experience I have ever had. Got the wrong item, in broken condition, and when I contacted support they would not stand behind it. Not an honest or professional company.

BRUTAL... I ordered a product at 8am NYC time and at 8:05AM realized I couldn't tell from the description how much load it could withstand...decided to call their techs...finally found the 800 number on their website, which I called and was told it was changed. Called the new number and got someone in the Philipenes...it's now 9am NYC time...after going through 4 reps who swore they were technical, I got a supervisor... I was so annoyed I canceled my order...it's 10am NYC time...got the cancellation email at 11:30am NYC time...BUY.com is registered out of California, where it would have been 8:15AM... SIX HOURS LATER I GET AN EMAIL FROM BUY.COM SAYING THEY COULDN'T CANCEL THE ORDER BECAUSE IT HAD ALREADY BEEN PROCESSED BY THE TIME I CALLED!!!!!!! so, in a 30 minute span at 7am PST they had taken my payment, processed my order, shipped my order and then got the email from the Philipenes... THIEVES AND LIARS

The worst experience i've had with an online retailer.

I ordered a specific PCI video card for my father's computer - they sent a PCI-E. It was promptly sent back. When i asked them to cancel the order since it had taken too long to send a replacement the result was a bewildering series of one-way emails (you have to logon to their site to respond) asking for information that was present in the original request. Compare this to the ebay/amazon merchants i've used over the years and it's a no-brainer. If they spent a fraction of what they must have spent for the domain name on customer service i might reconsider.

Don't buy there

I bought a Cavalry 1TB hard drive that failed after two weeks. Buy.com only allows returns within two weeks of the order date. I had to deal with the manufacturer and pay for the return. I have received two more drives and they are bad.

The drive was also missing a stand and buy.com denied it came with one. The manufacturer says it does.

I wrote a review about my experience at buy.com but they would not publish my negative review. No reason is given, they just don't appear.

They also try to trick you into signing up for one of those scam shopping services that quietly bill you $12 for nothing every month. Be careful what you click on when finalizing your order if you still want to shop there,

Buyer Beware

I called Buy.com on a Monday morning asking if I ordered an item would it be here by the weekend..I was informed that it would be here no later than Friday..It was an item I needed for Sunday..I canceled my order with Amazon based on this information..I called Buy.com on Wednesday when the UPS tracking they provided had not been updated and was told UPS doesn't always update and that my item shipped Monday..And by the way, my money was taken first thing Tuesday morning..It is now Friday and UPS just drove past my house..I called Buy.com once again and ended up speaking to a supervisor who told me that my item was still at the warehouse and I may not receive my item until the end of next week and that there was nothing she could do for me..I took a chance with Buy.com again after several disappointments in the past and after being guaranteed a delivery time, but now I know I will never shop there again..

Horrible company..be warned!

This is a horrible company when it comes to customer service. If you order ANYTHING from them, be prepared to keep it. Returns are a nightmare and refunds are impossible. Rebates are also a joke. I have had three bad experiences with them from three orders. You would think I would have learned after the first order, yes? If the price looks great, think twice. Go to Amazon, pay a little more, and have the peace of mind knowing that they stand behind their product. I truly advise that you STAY AWAY from this company. The do not care about their customers AT ALL. How they stay in business is beyond me.

buy.com is the worse online company! Stay away...

I just purchased a refurbished HP DV9620US 17" laptop from buy.com and found that this laptop is well used with visible damage and stains. I contacted the CSRs multiple times and were given the same answers -- Someone will be contacting you within 2 business days. Of course, no email or phone calls.

I finally called again this morning, after 1 week, and demanded to speak to a supervisor. Again, of course, he or she is not available and will call me right back.

I doubt anyone is going to call me. I am out $720.00 for a well-used laptop. buy.com is a fraudulent company. I caution everyone to stay away from this company. Everyone should contact the FTC to report them.

buy.com should not be allowed to stay in business. I regret very much for not checking on buy.com before making this purchase.

Not worth the aggravation

I recently ordered a ROOMBA REMOTE SCHEDULER ROBOTIC VAC with Inteli-Bin from Buy.com. They shipped the model 4130, which has no remote, no scheduler, no Inteli-Bin. Called customer service, returned it. Then the web site was updated to show that the SAME PRODUCE SKU was the model 4260. I ordered another one, and called customer service to request that my refund be changed to a replacement. The customer service rep promised that the model 4260 would ship.

Of course, I got 2 model 4130's. Now Buy.com said that is what I ordered and is demanding a 15% restocking fee. That is after speaking with customer service and having them promise a full refund.

AVOID THIS STORE.

They may have low price.... but is it worth with bad customer support and service, worst delivery time.

I use to shop at buy.com but never recived my orders on time. This time after a month of placing the order and 6 calls they informed that it was not shipped yet.

on the first 5 calls they said the item is shipped. on questioning why is the tracking information not availabe they said, its a problem with the shipping company. Aksing for the supervisor, they said shes busy and will call me back, never got a call. I had to call them again and again.


On questioning, why was i mis-informed on the first 5 calls that the item was shipped. she asked me to cancel my order...

Atleast i know a place where i will never shop again.

This company is on a downhill... lets wait for it to disappear.

Amazon is much better in any way you compare.. check the site before buying for buy.com

AWFUL - NEVER USE BUY.COM AGAIN

Placed an order for some SD Memory cards. Within 24 hour, Buy.com informed me the order was shipped and provided a FexEx tracking #. But when I checked FexEX system with the tracking number, it said it can not be found. Now 1 month passed, still same thing. Could not find a Buy.com customer service # to call,so emailed them at least 4 times but no reply from them at all. Of course they charged my credit card from day one. Now I guess I can only get my money back thru credit card charge dispute. What a CROOK company.

Buy elsewhere! Customer service is outsourced and useless!

I ordered a plasma tv from buy.com on March 12th. It was listed as "on order' for 3,225.00 shipped and since it was such a good price I placed the order knowing it would eventually be in stock. Over a month later I get an email from buy.com stating the product was no longer available from the manufacturer and the order was being cancelled. Wouldn't you know a short time later the plasma was back in stock for 4,199 shipped. I emailed Buy.com asking for them to reinstate the order and received the typical form letter stating to reorder the tv under a new order. Of course I wanted to pay the 3,225 not 4199 so I called the 800 number in the email and was told they can not reinstate the original order and will NOT match the price that I originally paid. This company is selling products that they don't have and/or at prices they will not honor. In my opinion they only cancelled my order so they wouldn't have to sell it to honor the lower price. I would recommend buying elsewhere!

The worse online shopping experience - no concern about the customer.

This is absolutely the worse online service that I have ever dealt with. I should have known I was in trouble by the maze one has to go through to return an item. I ordered two pairs of headphones which just fit poorly. You would think I was trying to return an expensive item. Every step was a hassle. I would advice anyone not to deal with these crooks. It took weeks of calls and cumulatively hours to finally get my money back. I am sure this was not by accident. This firm does business by making it so difficult to return anything that the customer just gives up. I guess if you get an item and do not have any problems then you are OK. Otherwise...you are in for a miserable experience. I would have just given up...it was not worth my time...I was just so angry that I kept going until I got my money back

DO NOT purchase from Buy.com. They have products listed as "In Stock" that are not actually available. I bought a Canon HV30 and paid for 2-day shipping...five days later, I finally got a response that said the product wasn't in stock and they didn't know when it would be. They had already charged my card. When I kept calling and emailing to have it canceled, I kept getting generic responses that the product was out-of-stock but I'm on some waiting list.
Completely unacceptable. These guys are SCAM ARTISTS and don't even read your emails to them.

Customer service good but product failed to arrive

I tried to buy a software program from buy.com but all I got was a box with no software, twice. Buy.com was nice about handling the problem for me though, I can't complain about that! First they filed a replacement claim for me, and when the replacement didn't arrive they filed a refund claim for me. Sorry to say I was not going to waste another week just to see if I would get the software or not, so I ended up buying it from a retail store. I really wanted to buy from buy.com as they had a better price and a mail in rebate that would have saved me a lot! But it's hard to save money if all I get is nothing! Sad to I will probably not use buy.com to make on-line purchases again.

I purchased an item that i was going to use on a vacation. I was sent the wrong item. When I contacted buy.com they told me that I would have to return the wrong item before they would send me the item I actually ordered. The time it would take to do this would make it too late for me to use the item on my vacation so I asked to have a refund instead since I will have to purchase it somewhere else. They said that they cannot refund me, they can only send a replacement item. They said they cannot issue me a refund even though the mistake was theirs. When calling their customer service I was put on hold for at least 10 - 15 minutes each time. It was difficult to understand the accents of the customer service people. It was buy.com's mistake and they are penalizing me. The item in question was only a $13.00. They are going to lose me as a customer for life simply over the profit margin on a $13.00 item.

I have purchased from buy.com a few times. I have always been pleased with the merchandise. My only problem, they are quick to take your order and charge your credit card but a little bit slow to ship out your order.

DO NOT BUY from buy.com! Their business practice and customer service is beyond shadowy. I followed an online advertisement for a product and received an invoice totaling $59 more than the online price, $15 of which was assessed as a "shipping and handling" charge (which was NOT detailed in the online checkout). I discovered this an hour and a half later when I received the emailed invoice. When I called to cancel my order due to this sneaky charge, the customer service representative said that they have a "15 minute buyer's remorse period." Again, they did not email the invoice until and hour and a half after the purchase was made! When I asked to be put in touch with her [customer support] supervisor, she would not do so and informed me that I had a "50/50 chance" of cancelling the order. The following day, I received an email saying that the order could not be cancelled and that I could either keep the product when it arrived or return it at my own cost, should it be delivered when I am not home. This company is an outrage. PLEASE BE WARY AND DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY.
