I ordered a Sony Handy-Cam XR500V and I was charged 30$ for 3 day shipping. After checking from butterfly site it says that for my camera in 30$ I should get next day shipping. They charged more to me just because I ordered from phone. They are fraud. They committed me that I will get camera on 31st Dec after tracking from ups it says that I will get camera on 6th Jan. they are fraud. They make false promises. I wanted to gift this camera to my father on New Year eve, they spoiled everything.

Regarding my order, order number BFW09121721, I quickly learned that this online merchant is just another NYC/NJ online scam. You will never be able to buy the discounted item or items you think you are buying. In order to complete your order they will force you to speak with a sales rep that will seem very kind and honorable at first, but every echange you have with them is all part of the scam. They will force you to buy additional items to make up for the supposedly discounted purchase that you think you are making. In the end, you either buy more items to make up for the discount, or they cancel your order. PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN ONE BASIC THING: DO NOT BUY FROM NYC/NJ ONLINE!! PERIOD.

I was told 7-10 business days from time of order, then was told 7-10 business days for shipping, of which it took them 4 business days to login the order.
Was told I would get email confirmation, they had the wrong email, and told me they sent the email and had confirmation, they sent it. Did not give a rats behind that it was not my email address! Tried to login online could not, they told me it was difficulties on there end. It was not it was a bad email address! Told me it would be delivered next day, gave me information regarding the shipping company, and of course they had the wrong email address and a bad address, and because of this it will now take 3 more days to deliver. Give me a freaking break. Over all very disapointed with the entire NJ attitude! Would not reccomend. |

Horrible experience. I purchased a camera from this company as a gift for my husband on our first anniversary. It was supposed to be a surprise however, Butterfly photo decided to call my house repeatedly to try and sell me (extra batteries, a camera case, and an extended warranty) and my husband answered their phone calls and put two and two together. This company has questionable business practices and for that reason I probably will never do business with them again.

Purchased a 40" Samsung LCD Series 6 TV from Butterfly Photo. I am very satisfied with the service they provided, especially since my bank refused to make the payment despite the fact that I had plenty of money in my account. I have since switched banks. Because of my bank I was forced to contact Butterfly Photo multiple times to get the order pushed through. I got friendly personal service, did not have to deal with multiple agents, and was never lied to. The TV arrived after the bank issue was ironed out in perfect condition, no dead pixels affecting the visible image, no scratches, and no other problems that could come up because of packing. They packed it up well in another box with an excessive amount of packing air pillows.

I ordered a camera from them a week ago and placed an order with another company for all the accessories. Since then, I have received three phone calls from them trying to sell me more stuff and then this morning they call again to say they haven't shipped the camera yet--even though I paid for 3-5 day shipping and have repeatedly stressed how important it is I get the camera by this Friday for an upcoming trip. All the accessories from the other company arrived today, no problem. I finally just told them to cancel the order to which I received a very indignant response. I stongly encourage others to buy from another company (B&H Photo, Reef Photo, Amazon) unless you like being inundated with sales calls and don't care about if/when your order arrives.

After receiving my Bang & Olufsen headphones I realized they were extremely uncomfortable and decided to return them. After calling customer service, I was informed that headphones were not returnable ("they were like lingerie or underwear and had already been 'worn'") and that all of this was on their website and I was pretty much out of luck.
I reviewed Butterflyphoto's return policy as posted on Amazon (the portal I used to place my order) and NO MENTION is made that headphones are not returnable. After jacking around with the customer service rep, she finally gave me the return authorization but informed me I would be paying a 15% re-stocking fee. And pretty much left me feeling like I should be grateful for what I got ("thank you sir! May I have another?"). After receiving the returned headphones (signed for on Aug 7) it took until August 28 for my credit card to receive the credit. After reading some of the other reviews I've seen, I wish I would've checked them more thorougly before placing my order. But I now consider their 15% re-stocking fee to be the price of my education: NEVER buy anything from Butterflyphoto.com. |

Ordered a camera on Sunday, June 28. When I checked the status of the order on June 30, it had been CANCELLED with no notification to me at all as to why the order was cancelled. I have excellent credit so I know that's not the problem. I will NEVER use this company and NEVER recommend it to anyone, ever! HORRIBLE customer service!

I tried to order an $1100 camera lens that said it was In Stock, however it has been back ordered for a week. With my item STILL on back order, their website is still lying with an in-stock advertisement. All they would offer me was an apology for lying and an offer to upgrade my shipping whenever it finally arrives at their warehouse. Buyer Beware!

Butterfly Photo is not just for photo equipment. We ordered a Weber Summit Grill on Friday, June 19th, with an expected delivery date of 8 to 10 days. We tracked the order and it left the facility in New Jersey the day we placed the order, was in Ohio 2 days later and arrived in Chicago on Monday. We were personally called to set up delivery and it was delivered, at no shipping costs, on Tuesday, June 23rd, 4 days after placing the order. The order was 100% correct and was delivered in record time. I did a lot of searching and the cost of the grill was the best on the Internet. Thanks to all involved in processing the order and delivering it. A special thanks to Justin, who took my order. He never pushed me to have it shipped at a faster speed for $199.00. I didn't have to pay that fee and got it fast anyway!! It's amazing how something that weighs over 200 lbs can be shipped for free. I would definitely order from them again and tell all my friends. Thanks Butterfly Photo.

I have not recieved my order yet, It has been two weeks since I bought the Plasma TV and I don't have a tracking number or any update on whats going on. Everythime I call them I just hear one thing, we are shipping the order tomorrow and that day never comes.
For you information, LCDTV's and Butteryflyphoto are both the same. I heard bad reviews about Butterfly Photo and hence decided to go with LCDTV's but later when I see my credit card statement, I see Butterfly photo on it. Also, when the customer service for LCDTV's do not answer the call it goes to Butterfly Photo. I don't appreciate the way they provide customer service as well. I doubt if the products are genuine. I shouldn't have bought my TV here. It is always better to go to Best Buy or some reputed store even though they are expensive. Atleast you know what you are getting and the quality of it. I will not recommend this site to anyone and I wish I can cancel my order. |

I was seriously going to purchase more than 1500 dollars worth of camcorder equipment plus accessories after reading all these so-called ratings. Then I wrote to Butterfly to enquire about whether the merchandize can arrive on time in CA, since we've a 2-night stopover the city before departing. The first response I got was "we don't accept international card payment, & please call our billing dept. to assist..."
Can't this so-called "high rating" company just answer the question if they can deliver on time, then talk about payment?! Am abit curious about their level of professionalism & customer service, where they could have proposed alternative payment method since we're in town. And we could have paid cash if warranted. I think those worked in customer service in Butterfly Photo need to be trained in consumer value proposition (i.e. tactful, provide sound advice, give good payment options, etc.). After all, it'd be a windfall that you've somebody out there that just showed up to your store & prepared to make significant purchases. In the end, we went to a retail shop & paid slightly higher price, but with great customer service! |

I purchased a projector with a three year warranty from Butterfly Photo. The bulb went out, so I called the company. They said that they weren't the same company, even though they have the same NAME and same PHONE NUMBER. I think this is ridiculous, and horrible planning and customer service. I would HIGHLY suggest using a different, more reliable company for your electronic purchases, especially if you want a valid warranty!

Butterfly Photo sold a warranty though repairtech and then in the 4th year of my warranty, Repairtech went under, my camera broke and I was stuck fixing it out of pocket while ButterflyPhoto didn't even seem to care. They did seem to care to help the hundreds of customers who bought warranty's that they sold them brushing it off as "not their problem". BEWARE of a company that doesn't care about their customers after they get their money.

They made my Christmas!!!! My son did not tell me what he wanted until the Saturday before Christmas. I ordered shortly after he told me (the Saturday before Christmas) with Standard shipping. After placing my order, Butterfly Photo personally called me, asked if I had any questions about my order or the product I was purchasing, provided information about the camera I ordered, suggested additional equipment I might need to start taking pictures right away and said they were throwing in the "arrive before Christmas" as an added bonus. I received my order at 2:00 pm Christmas Eve. I will always check with them for all my electronic needs in the future. Wonderful, wonderful service and company. Thank you.

price was the lowest but customer service was the worst. i was told the product was in stock on a Wednesday and would ship that day. The next Monday it had not shipped but guess what Customer service said: yep it would ship that day. Tuesday with no shipment I sent an email which was not answered and then called again Tuesday night only to hear guess what: the product would ship either Tuesday or Wednesday. The saga continues.
One other nuggett. The sales person told me when I originally ordered that 4 day "guaranteed" shipping was only $5. So I went for it and when my invoice was emailed it was 5.95 and not 5.00. Those are the kind of people you have at Butterfly Photo |

In Aug. ('08) I bought an Olympus E510 2 lens kit as advetised. It arrived in 3 days!
It's been GREAT ! I don't work for or are related to anyone in Butterfly Photo & I'm posting this to reassure you that I've bought 2 cameras & relatives & friends have bought 3 at my suggestions. Never an issue, Thank God & B.Photo. I simply introduced myself as a return customer & told them i had all the xtras from previous purchases & it went smooth from there. I HATE seeing neg. review's from '04 as soon as I logged in here. My name is Don Taylor,Jr. & I saved $$ & S&H by shopping w/ Butterfly Photo and that's the bottom line. Purchased a camera bundle kit from butterflyphoto online and the description of the product lists that it comes with an 8gb card, but when you actually purchase the product they only give you a 4gb card. I called cust service and they basically told me I was wrong even though I took a screen shot and could clearly see what the product should come with. They were unwilling to do anything to fix this issue. So I ended up getting a 4gb card with my camera when I should have gotten an 8gb card. I will never use them again.

Called to buy a couple of tvs and the guy who answered the phone was not very nice he insisted ,without even asking if we wanted extended warranty, that everyone got it and he would take $100 off the warranty to $250, when we said no he lost all interest and so did we!!!!!!!!!!! I just purchased a Samsung 52" LCD - LN52A750 from Butterfly Photo and received it last week. I received it on time as promised and 7 days from purchase. In fact they were able to deliver it a day early and called me to see if that was ok..(HECK YEAH IT WAS) The TV was in PERFECT shape and came a very long way to Georgia.. I received my 4 year warranty info in the mail 3 days before the TV arrived. Excellent customer service as well.. The point I'm trying to make is I HIGHLY recommend purchasing from them without worries. I paid about $100 more than other places but it was TOTALLY worth it to not have to deal with any problems..

Really bad customer service. I was told that my product would ship out in 3 days and I waited 4 days until they finally told me that it was on back order. I spoke with them every day because they kept saying they would call me but never did. The people were rude and not customer service oriented. I only got one person that was nice to me out of the 5 different people I talked to. A week later I got fed up and just canceled the order. I could have gone with a different company and I would have already received my order! I would not recommend this company unless you have a lot of patience!

Delivery speed, order accuracy, and customer service were all top notch. Butterfly photo actually has a storefront in NJ, with real human beings that work at the store and answer the phone, etc. I called a few times before buying, just to make sure that what I was buying (Canon HV30) was in fact brand new, never opened, not refurbished, etc. Paid with Paypal, upgraded to expedited shipping (I like being able to track FedEx packages). Was worried about previous reviews I saw on this site and others with order mixups, problems returning, bait-and-switch tactics. I had NO problems like this. They did call and try to sell me a battery and UV filter, but I just said "no" and that was the end of it; they weren't pushy. No problem, I have no complaints about that, that's just what good salesmen do. It was nice to know they at least received my order and were working on it. Shipped it fast; received it 3 business days after placing the order.

They said they needed extra money for second day shipping, their ordering system had made an error. They would not live up to their commitment to me. So I canceled the order. That is their commitment to making customers happy...
