Ordering is easy enough, but everything goes downhill from there

Used bloomingdales.com twice.  First time was three years ago.  Received a coat order in the wrong size.  In addition to receiving the wrong size, it took a very long time to arrive.  Bloomingdales took weeks to send a return order slip for the coat so that I would not be charged for the return; it was sent only after many phone calls from me. 

I recently ordered from there again since I just moved to a cold climate and there are not very many nice retail clothing stores nearby.  The clothing I received is of poor quality, the sizing was completely off, and it does not look like the quality that is in the stores.  Nevertheless, the price was right, and since I was desperate for warmer weather clothing I exchanged everything for different sizes.  The clothing I just received in exchange looks like it's been back and forth between the store and other customers.  Additionally, apparently sizing is not only off, but it's also not even uniformly off for two pants that I received of the same brand and style, but in different colors.  The two pants look like they are completely different sizes. 

It also takes quite an effort to assure that returns are credited back to your card.  After returning the order the first time, and asking for an excahnge, they charged me for both orders without crediting the return.  I emailed and received no response, so a couple of days later I phoned, and they said it would take ten days to credit.  The credit did appear on my card after another ten days.  After receiving the exchange, I returned the pants that still did not fit.  I mailed a return package 14 days ago, but still do not see credit for the second return.  I tracked the package and I find that the package was received by Bloomingdales ten days ago, but the credit does not appear on my account.  The first time I phoned to find out about the status of the refund, I hung up after being on hold for some time.  The second time, I was on the phone for  about 40 minutes.  First, the customer service representative could not find any record of the order.  Then, still lacking any record of the order, her computer froze twice.  She finally reached a manager to take care of the problem, and after provinding the tracking info. and all the product information for the returned goods, I have been told that the money will be credited back to me.  The customer service agent was very nice.  The problem seems to be with systems and procedures in place at bloomingdales.com.

Bottom line: ordering is easy, quality of goods online is not as high as what is in the stores, and returning merchandise consistently requires time, patience, and lots of documentation!
