In my online shopping experience, I have never had such a horrible experience as Ive had with Bloomingdales.com
I have read the not-so-good reviews here for Bloomingdales.com before, but when I found a designer handbag on sale for an amazing price, I couldnt pass it up. Unfortunately, I didnt know that I would have to go through hell to get it.
I purchased the bag and received confirmation of my order right away. However, it took Bloomingdales 4 (business) days to just process my order. I had to contact customer service several times to get updated information regarding my order, because their site provides you with no updates on the status of your order.
On the 5th day, my order had finally been shipped (or so I thought). When after 24 hours, the UPS tracking number that was provided to me wasnt reflected on the UPS site, I contacted Bloomingdales customer service and informed them of this; they guaranteed me that my order had been SHIPPED and that UPS was just slow in updating their site.
Needless to say, I was flabbergasted when I received an e-mail from Bloomingdales.com a couple of days later, informing me that they received my return. Return of what? I didnt even get my merchandise, yet!
I wasted my whole morning on the phone arguing with a lazy and unconcerned manger at Bloomingdales customer service. There was no apology or acceptance of responsibility for THEIR mistake. Nor was there any wish to reconcile the issue.
I had to, in the end, do the work of the Bloomingdales manager (calling up numerous Bloomingdales stores MYSELF in order to locate the bag, guarantying the original sales price, and obtaining free shipping per my initial order). Another day wasted.
I am waiting to receive my order, which I pray is OK. But, after everything that I have been through, all I can say is no matter how good the sale may be, its not worth your precious time, nor the aggravation expended. Its worth paying full price.
