When They're Good, They're Very Good; When They're Bad, They're Horrible!

When I received solar shades, the odor of chemicals made me have asthma attacks and gave my husband and grandson severe headaches. Our skin felt tingly and burned, our eyes watered.

I called Customer Service and the Rep said he had never had any complaints about these shades, except for one complaint about "box odor," whatever that means! He said the customer had complained about the odor of the cardboard box in which the shades were delivered!

He told me to air the shades. I did, but still the odor was overwhelming. He gave me the number of the manufacturer who said to wash the shades in Woolite. I did, but the smell still caused everyone to be ill, so I called this seller back. This time I spoke to the Director of Customer Service, who supposedly called the manufacturer and was told, he said, that they would not give me a refund because my problem does not fall under the category of the item being "defective." I am now stuck with toxic shades, and I'm out $400.

My credit card company is investigating, and I am going to report this company to the BBB and the CA Attorney General.
