I have been researching for months for a home gym system, as two young children at home keep me from going to the local gym. I looked into the Bowflex, the Crossbow and various others, but as a previous free weight user, I wanted something more. After reading the rave reviews about the Powertec home gym, I decided to buy it. Bigfitness.com advertised the lowest price with 99% of items in stock ready to ship next day,the Powertec gym being one of them, so I placed my order and waited for the shipping confirmation. I received an order number and started tracking the progress. After three days, when I entered my order number, the status still said "thanks for your order." I wrote emails and called the customer service line and left voice mail messages for someone to call me back. The weekend went by and on Monday I still has no response. At this point, Bigfitness.com had $700 of my money from my debit card and I had nothing but a useless order number. I finally called someone in sales(who was the only department I could find a live person in!) who looked up the order and said that they were out of stock on the item and they were awaiting a shipment from California, which would be there in several days, and the item would immediately be shipped to me, which is only about 250 miles away. Another week went by and still no phone call or email confirmation about anything. I phoned again and spoke to someone in customer service who said they were "expecting the shipment today or tomorrow" and the item would be shipped the following day. He said the item was very popular and that they could refund my money until it came in, but I would move to the bottom of the order list. At this point, it had been two weeks and I wasn't going to the bottom of "the list". Here it is another week later and I still haven't received any confirmation about anything except for the fact I have $700 less in my bank account. I've waited three weeks for an item that was supposedly "in stock" and going to "ship the next business day" and still have no idea when I am going to get it. For a piece of equipment I will have for years, three weeks is no big deal, but I researched for months and finally made my decision, and bought from a company that supposedly had it in stock and I was excited to get going on my workout program. I have been immensely disappointed with Bigfitness.com.
