Don't order multiple items if you MUST have all of them

I ordered a phone and a headset.  I specifically bought both from one vendor because I didn't want to pay two shipping fees to two vendors.  Although both items appeared to be in stock at the time of the order, it turned out that the phone had to be backordered.  My complaint is that I didn't receive notification that the phone was backordered until after the headset had shipped.  Now I have a headset and no phone.  I placed my order on 3/14 and I'm still waiting for the phone today (4/1).  In an email I received on 3/27, Beach Audio blames Amazon for causing the headset to ship (from Beach Audio) before I was notified (by Beach Audio) that the phone wasn't in stock.  I'm still not sure of the logic in all of that.
When Beach Audio split my order (because of the backorder) they stated that I would only be charged for an item when it shipped.  This wasn't the case, since my credit card was charged for the entire order on 3/17.  Again, Beach Audio blames Amazon.
In an email from Beach Audio on 3/27, Kris Freeman, Director of Operations states "I have contacted my warehouse to get an update on the backordered item and will let you know if I get an ETA for the shipment."  I haven't heard back and it's been five MORE days, the order still lists as backordered on the website and I have no idea if it will EVER ship.  If it doesn't, and they cancel the order, I will have paid $10.06 in shipping for a headset that sold for $12.68.  PS Beach Audio blames Amazon for the shipping cost, it would have been $8.00 if I ordered from Beach Audio and not Amazon.
So here I am, 18 days after placing an order, paid in full 15 days ago and no hopes of receiving the phone anytime soon.
I'm really torn, I need a phone, I've already paid $22.74 for a $12.68 headset, I have invested way, way too much time in the process but if I cancel now, will I ever get a refund for the phone ($28.57).
If the phone had shipped and the headset was backordered it wouldn't be such a problem but...I have a headset and no phone to plug it in to.  The headset is USELESS without the phone!
Anyway...if you must order here, it appears that the only way to get a smooth transaction is to order directly from Beach Audio, do NOT go through a "third party", which is how Beach Audio refers to Amazon.
