I placed an order for a textbook for an upper level art history class on Jan. 21st through the used and out of print section. It was shipped that day was supposed to take 4-14 business days to ship. I called once about two weeks later to see what was up, I still had not received the book... The "customer service" rep told me very bluntly that the 14th day was in two more days and that was when I should call.

Feb. 18 I called again (20 business days later) the rep said she would get in touch with the authorized dealer and email me the next Monday (Feb. 21). I didn't receive an email until the 22nd, stating that the dealer requested that I wait until the end of that day to call back. They had no tracking info whatsoever on my book. So I called BN back today (the 23rd), all they would do is issue a refund, and when I expressed that this was a textbook for an upper level class and that I have a midterm in TWO WEEKS, she did not even suggest replacing it with a new copy that they have in stock or anything of the sort!!! How is that customer service??

So I called around to the local bookstores, but at this point in the semester, they are sold out of the book. So I checked back on BN.com, to my surprise all of the copies they have are $30-45 more than what I purchased my copy for! So I went to amazon.com found the book for a similar price and also had to pay $18 for one-day shipping since I am now 5 weeks behind in the class due to the postal service and lack of information on the behalf of Barnes and Noble.
