I had a terrible experience with Balsam Hill. I ordered a 7.5 foot Vermont White Spruce on sale for $669. The picture of this tree on the website was beautiful - the tree shipped to me was not. It was skimpy, there were wide gaps between the branches and you could see the interior metal pole in a number of places. On top of that, the tree did not light. Customer service was abysmal. I was told that a service representative would call me in 2 to 3 days to troubleshoot the lighting problem between the hours of 9 to 5 (which is when I am at work). Since the tree looked cheap and given the ridiculously high price (which I would have been willing to pay for top quality), I decided to return the tree for a refund. I was told that I has to ship the 2 large boxes back to California (rather than the Georgia warehouse which was relatively close to me). The return shipping cost (which Balsam Hill refused to reimburse) was $187. I am told that it will take 30 days to get my refund once the tree is returned. I would not do business with this company. Their advertising is misleading and their service is horrible.
