My son is in a Christmas Pagent on Sunday December 21, 2008. The woman that was making the costumes was unable to make all of the costumes by the time of the pagent, so parents had to order costumes or make them. I found a costume on http://amazon.com/ through a merchant Back To Basics Toys. I contacted Back To Basics Toys prior to making the order online and asked if I ordered the costume through them would the product be at my home in time. I was told as long as I placed the order that evening, and had the shipment expedited, my product would be at my home in 2 days, or by Saturday December 20, 2008 at the latest. The costumer service representative told me by placing the order at that time the product would be shipped out at 10:30am the following day, and I would have nothing to worry about. She promised me the product would be here. With that being told to me I placed the order online like she stated, and payed the extra to have the item expedited 2 day delivery. I called on December 17, 2008 twice and was told my item was boxed and was shipped and was promised my item would be delivered by Friday December 20, 2008 or at the latest Saturday December 21, 2008 and not to worry, my costume would be here in time for my son's pagent. I checked my tracking number on Friday morning with UPS and it stated my item would not be delivered until Monday December 22, 2008. I contacted UPS and was told that my item was in Syracuse N.Y. which is 35 min away. I was told by UPS that the item was marked 2 day delivery and they didn't understand why the company wouldn't put Saturday delivery on the item. And was told that Back To Basics Toys never put on the shipping order that they could deliver the product on Saturday. I asked UPS if I could come to Syracuse Airport and pick up my order on Saturday, but was told due to the item not having Saturday delivery listed on it, it would be placed in their trailor and sit there until Monday. The woman from UPS told me that I should call Back To Basics Toys and ask them to call UPS and ask to have the item shipped on Saturday, or have them overnight the item and I would have it in time. I contacted Back To Basics Toys at 10:30 am. and explained the issue and was told that the supervisor had called his supervisor and was waiting for their call, and I would recieve a call back within the hour. They stated that they would find a way to have the item at my home by Saturday December 20, 2008. I gave Back To Basics Toys my cell phone number due to me not being home. I waited until 2:30 pm. and still had not recieved a call. I contacted Back To Basics Toys again and was told I was talking to the Colorado call center, and that I would have to keep calling the 1-800- number and ask if I was talking to the Nevada call center due to that was who I called and spoke to in the morning. I called the number 10 times until I reached the Nevada call center and was told by the customer service representative that they couldn't change the shipping to Saturday delivery seeing though it was already in transit. I again asked if the item could be shipped overninght and was told no, it was too late. I explained how I was waiting for a phone call back from the supervisor on how they were going to get the item to me in time, due to me being promised and assured the item would be here. The representative put the supervisor on the phone who was very short and rude, and didn't offer any help at all. I was told all he was waiting for was an ok to give me a refund, and wasn't at all going to see what he could do to get the item here in time. The supervisor told me he was still waiting for a phone call, and assured me again he would call me, and hung up. I was very upset, and had to call around and eventually found a costume store 2 hours away that had costumes, and had the one my son needed for his pagent, for $25.99. I then waited for the phone call back from Back To Basics Toys and still didn't hear from them and was then 9 p.m or so, so I decided to call again. I again had to keep calling the 1-800- number until I had the Nevada call center on the phone. I explained to the costumer service representative the whole situation, and was told that I should recieve the item at Saturday the latest. I explained they didn't put a Saturday Delivery on the shipping so I wouldn't be recieving it. I explained how the supervisor was supposed to have called me back about maybe being able to give me a refund. The service representative told me that supervisor's don't need to call their supervisor's about giving refunds, that they can just issue them. I eplained that I was assured prior to ordering the costume that the item would be here. The representative stated that she saw that I paid to have the item expedited 2 day delivery and she was baffled also. She told me that I could pay to have the item sent back to them, and then they could see what they could do for a refund. I was also told that I would recieve a phone call from Back To Basics Toys within 24 to 48 hours, and have yet to here from them. No phone call, no email, nothing. So needless to say on Saturday December 20, 2008 I had to drop my son off at his dress rehersal for the pagent without his costume and drive 2 hours to the costume store to pick up his Indian Costume he needed for the play, so he had somthing to wear. I am very upset about being assured prior to placing the order that the item would be here, and falling for it. I should have just placed my order with http://buycostumes.com/ like every other parent did, and I wouldn't have had to worry about anything, and my product would have been at my home. I will never order anything again from Back To Basics Toys.
