This is by far the WORST company from which I have ever ordered. Their customer service personnel are rude, unhelpful, uninformed and, at times, just completely unresponsive. Where can I begin? I ordered accessories for my daughter's doll house for Chanukkah. I was assured that the items would ship by 12/6 which would get them to my house in plenty of time. The order did not ship as promised. I received an email saying that it shipped (in two separate boxes) on 12/7. When I hadn't received it by the 10th, I called FedEx who told me that they had no record of either tracking number that Back to Basics Toys gave me. When I called Back to Basics, they assured me that the packages had shipped (after talking to 3 different people for over 30 minutes). I must have told each person with whom I spoke that I was certain that the packages hadn't shipped given the information I received from FedEx. There were no apologies for my inconvenience, the fact that my daughter has an empty dollhouse or that they did not follow through with their shipping promise. At that point, I received a rude phonecall letting me know that my items would ship and, only at my request, was told that they would be overnighted to me. Well, this morning has come and gone and I still have yet to receive my packages. The 2nd supervisor to whom I've spoken told me that the first supervisor, who promised the packages to me by this morning, should have known that there was a problem. Alas, Chanukkah is now over and my daughter still has an empty dollhouse. And another ridiculous thing.... when I asked the first supervisor with whom I spoke why my complaint emails to the customer service department were not responded to in 5 days, she told me that it wasn't the responsibility of the customer service department to respond to customer complaints! I have now sent 2 emails to customer service and continue to wait for a response. It's now been 7 days. What is going on at this company? They supposedly sell great products. I wouldn't know since I can't get them to send me the merchandise that I ordered. There are plenty of other online toy stores to order from. I would recommend Oopma Toys (oompa.com) as a fabulous one that sells great quality, wooden, European toys. And their customer service is remarkable. There is also MonkeyBeanToys.com and moolka.com that I would recommend.
