I placed a babycenter order at 11 pm EST on a Sunday. I called Monday morning to try to upgrade to an expedited shipping option. (My mistake, I had a date wrong.) I was told no changes could be made to an order once it was already processing. (I had not yet received email confirmation that I'd placed an order.) I asked when specifically I could expect delivery and was told 3-8 days. I asked to cancel my order and was told cancellation may or may not go through and I would hear via email. I called this evening, nearly 48 hours after placing the original order because I have still not had any email correspondence from babycenter. I did learn that one of the items in my order shipped nine hours after I tried to cancel and that the the two remaining items in my order would probably ship as well. My only hope now is to be here to refuse shipments so I don't have to pay to return the items (which will be hard to do if I never receive an email with order or tracking information). Since I need the items sooner than they will arrive from babycenter, I placed an order for the same items with amazon this afternoon and had shipping confirmation within one hour.
