What led me to the Apple Store was I wanted to buy my older child an Apple iPod Shuffle. So, I was just really going to check out the product itself on apple.com, but then upon looking, I noticed that the Apple Store had free shipping for orders over $50, and free engraving on the ipod Shuffle, which sounded like a sweet deal to me, so I took the plunge and ordered from them.

When going to apple.com, you’ll need to click on the store link to get to the actual store. From there, you’ll see clickable links to the right and left, and there is also a search function, which I decided to use- I just typed in ‘Shuffle’, then I was led to a page with all the search results. The site is really easy to navigate, and you’ll see some customer reviews when you click on products. I had a really easy time getting to the Shuffle, and from there I was led to a page where I could add free engraving, which I did.

Not only will you find iPods, but you’ll also find accessories for them, such as chargers, cases, transmitters, and docks. They also have stuff for iPhone, and stuff for Mac computers as well. Should you have any questions, you can click up at the top of the page where it says ‘speak to an Apple consultant’ and have a chat with an Apple consultant.

As far as selection goes, well, they did have quite a bit, for example they had 164 iPod cases to choose from, but they don’t have quite the diversity of cases like a place such as amazon.com. But, they have the basic stuff that you need for ipods, besides I just came for the Shuffle and that was it. As far as price, well they were pretty decent, but if you shopped around you could probably find some things a couple of dollars cheaper.

Now then, once I had the iPod Shuffle all personalized and added to my cart, I decided to check out. Let me note here that the Apple store does participate in the Ebates program, but it is only 1% of your purchase price that comes back to you. As far as payment method, they accept all major credit cards, check cards, and debit cards. I paid just $79 for the ipod Shuffle, no shipping cost, no cost for the engraving, and no taxes either.

After placing my order, I got an email saying they had received my order, and then on the next day I got an email saying my order had shipped, and I also got a FedEx tracking link as well. Two business days later, the Shuffle made it to my house, a day earlier than it was supposed to.

As far as returns, well I didn’t have to return anything, but I can tell you that personalized items can’t be returned, even if the engraving is wrong. Depending on the product, Apple may or may not do a return- for example, stuff that has already been personalized to your specifications can’t be returned. You have to call Apple within 14 days and talk to them to do a return.

I was very pleased with the Apple store- I feel as though I got a good deal. It was really fast as far as shipping, and overall I would rate it 5 stars. I would shop there again, especially if I could run upon a deal.
