Disappointing and horrible.

This was a horrible experience. I had received a $250 gift card for my anniversary at work (nice!). When I placed my order, I followed all of the instructions to use the gift card. Amazon still charged my Visa for the order and not the gift card.
When I called customer service, the woman "helping" me told me that there was nothing that could be done. But she would follow up with me when she got back to work (four days later). There never was a follow-up when she returned. The only follow-up was later that night telling me that she apologized for any misunderstanding and that I could still use my gift card on future purchases.
When I tried replying to that email, I got a message saying that I responded to an address that cannot take incoming emails. Nowhere on the email did it say "Do not reply to this email." So I wasted my time responding to it.
For a company that is trying to sell itself on customer service, this has been a horrible experience where any number of easy steps could have been taken to retain me as a customer and make things right. None of those things happened.
