Amazon used to be the "it" online shopping store, but no longer. Their prices are skyrocketing, their "supersaver" shipping is unreasonably slow (several days before an order is
shipped, let alone delivered), and FORGET customer service if you are unlucky enough to have to return an item.
I returned two items from one order - one item was damaged, one didn't fit. I returned them both in the same box with the prepaid label I printed after completing an online return request. Three weeks after returning my items, I had to email customer service because my account had not yet been credited. I was told to wait a total of
four ridiculous weeks before inquiring again! A full week later, I received a curt email stating that my return had been received and that I was being
charged return shipping for the second item I did not want - even though
it was so light it did not change the cost of the return package! The email also stated that my
return was pending, and that I'd be notified when my account was credited. Several days later, and I am
still waiting for my credit.
I'll never shop Amazon again! My local "brick and mortar" stores now have prices comparable to or
better than Amazon, and I've found that Amazon has become a dumping ground for vendors that can't sell that last pair of odd-sized somethingoranother. It is a waste of precious time sifting through the chaff now offered on their website. Further, I can get EXCELLENT customer service through quality vendors such as Zappos, LLBean, and others. Never - never again, Amazon.
