THE MAIN PROBLEM: Lack of INTEGRITY 5-27-03:

(SEE UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM TO SEE RESOLUTION)

I received 3 items from an order I placed with Altrec, after I had a chance to use them, I wrote a 'product review' for them on their web site, while they posted the two good reviews, they did not post the one star review of the Atwater Carey Sports Pak First Aid Kit, that I wrote. When I emailed them to ask them why, the support rep said because they had fixed the problem I had with it.

Yet right next to the button you click to submit the review they claim the only reason they will EDIT (not refuse to post) a review is (quote)

'We will edit only to address inappropriate or offensive content.'

Evidently they think a bad review is inappropriate. Note that they did not EDIT, they deleted.

THE REASON I WROTE THE BAD REVIEW:
When I received the Atwater Carey Sports Pak First Aid Kit, a week after the rest of the same order, it had less than a month and a half before it's expiration date. I emailed customer service, and they called me saying they would send another kit. 2 weeks later I got another kit, THAT HAD ALREADY EXPIRED! It was older than the first kit I got. So I emailed Altrec again, and they called and left a message, that they would send another kit out. 3 weeks later I still have not even received a word as to when I will get a kit that isn't expired. Over a month after my original order.

Update 5-31-03: after one more try with Altrec's customer service rep, (I mentioned I wrote an Epinion about my experience) I was told I would get a refund for the 1st aid kit, including shipping. I received that refund today, and in the interest of my own integrity, I have updated this review, including the customer service rating.

I still don't have a usable first aid kit, but I'm not out any money either.

UPDATE 6-12-03

OK they have credited my account for the bad kit, and they are sending me a new one. When I receive it, I assume it wont be close to being expired, as I have made quite a stink over this.

All-in-all Customer service (Greg in particular) has done more than they had to do, to make things right, and I would buy from Altrec again, without worry.

They made mistakes, but after a little hounding, they made it right, which is better than most retailers would do.
