Previous reviewer is correct- don't even think of ordering books from Alibris if you have any timeline...or if you absolutely need the book. In trying to buy textbooks, two of the three books on the last order had problems. One seller who lists address as Elk Grove, IN and claims USPS Standard delivery shipped my book from Germany. Obviously there was an extended wait for customs inspection and long delivery time. Now I have to wonder if the "international edition" I unwarily purchased will work for my daughter's class. Three emails to the seller and two to Alibris brought no replies. They just don't care.
The second book did not arrive nearly on time. When I emailed the seller they said that the book was not available when I bought it. When I questioned why they still processed my credit card and did not bring it to my attention they said that Alibris collects the money for them and so it does no financial good to them not to credit me back. In other words, Alibris collects all the money without any controls over whether there are enough copies. The seller may have one copy and Alibris bills 100 orders for it. Then, at it's leisure, refunds the 99 people who think they have bought a copy.
This was my second semester ordering from Alibris, based on price, but certainly my last.
RECOMMENDATION: Go to
Booksprice.com and survey everyone's price (even eBay), disregard the Alibris, then go to the seller's websites and buy.
