Ordered a large screen lcd tv from them and have waited 20 days and still no sign of the tv. It took over 7 days for the warehouse to release the order and since then it has been stuck in shippers limbo. One gripe I have is that the order apparently was never processed until after I received a call from a salesman trying to sell me the moon and a bridge to Brooklyn. I am not a happy customer and would not consider buying from this site again. Why bother with companies like this one when there are plenty of good one's out there.

I got a call from them at 9:30 on a Sunday morning trying to talk me into buying additional accessories for a camera I ordered from them on the internet the night before.
The salesman was pushy, rude, and wouldn't take no for an answer - so I hung up on him. The episode left a a bad impression - we'll see if they deliver the goods. |

I was never updated correctly about the shippment,when the salesman was selling the better shipping method and then they said,we dont care,know about the shipping,you have to contect the shipper.i did not choose the shipper.they trapped me with better shipping rate and so much of other bad deals.i will never ever recommend them to anybody.this is the second biggest order to them from me.thank god i waited for this order to complete before ordering my other goods.there are much better reseller who really cares and spoke nicely to thier customers..they are rude after the order is done.

I placed an order on October 16th and received an e-mail the next day stating that the product had shipped but there was no tracking number. On October 27thy I called customer service and was assured that the Item was being drop shipped overnight and that I would have the product by the "end of the week". You guessed it, it is Saturday and I have not received the product.

Shopped for best price, found it at Abes of Main, I made the purchase and got fast delivery, but communication was terrible. The only time I was able to talk to them is when they called me to try and make a deceptive, misleading accessory sales. They discredited the functionality of the camera battery and insisted that I buy an off-brand back up, which I already had. They still will not communicate, the price dropped three times since I purchased, even days after I purchased and still will not communicate. They'll answer the phone, but that's about it.
If you know what your looking for and spot the best price, go for it, but don't try to communicate. I wrote a review on the camera I purchased on their site and wanted to go back and edit, or add to it and have not gotten a reply from them in over a month. Now I'm trying to stop the daily sales promos via email. |

abes of maine representative was very forceful i get mack camera warranty, so i gave it a shot. I read about the warranties not being good and tried to get a refund. The company gave me the worst RUNAROUND ever. They didnt return my calls, had a guuy TONY on the phone bully me and ask why i dont want it. they did so much to not refund me, including totally blowing me off.
NOT A GOOD COMPANY i spent nearly 2000 on that rude company.. never again.. |

After a few days of looking on line for a camcorder that I needed, I found good reviews for abes of Maine a couple of negatives but nothing crazy. I ordered it from them and I was amazed how fast the camera came. It came in 3 days and I live all the way out in Washington.

I read a few complaints about Abe's of Maine but I must say objectively that my experience was fine overall. Yes, they make you talk to them via phone and yes they try to upsell you items, but you know what? That's what a lot of companies do. Anyhow I ordered a top of the line Sony "bridge" camera, meaning the new 20 times lens on a non SLR. There price was the best available and the item was shipped promptly the same day as I pd next day air. It was a replacement for a Sony SLR and I found I didn't really like the picture quality. I returned the item to Abes and got a full refund within 4 business days. I almost kept the camera out of fear from reading a few bad reviews, but the bottom line is that I had no problems and would order from them again. Just say no to the upsells.

I had ordered a Pioneer DVD player online with Abes because it was listed as "Available". The price was comparable to other online shops. The day afer I ordered it, I got an email stating that it's out of stock and I could either wait 7-10 days for it or cancel. I called cust service and asked why their site said "available" when it wasn't? Their response was that they had thousands of products and couldn't possibly update status of all of them! What a CROCK of SH*T!
Anyway I decided to wait out the delay. I waited. And waited, and waited. After a month I cancelled the order. After several phone calls, all I got was that it was backordered and Pioneer wasn't shipping them. Each call they said, 5-10 days. I checked with Pioneer and they said they had full stock of these and no problems shipping them out to distributers. I called J&R same day I cancelled with Abes and got it in 2 days for the same price. I will never do business with Abes again. |

I didn't do my homework on this place. Being a camera novice I was talked into buying a spare battery with "3 times the battery life"
and $49.00, 8 gb card. I got the battery as part of the 8gb card. OK got me there, then the pitch about the warranty. So, I got that as well for $49.00. After all of this I received my order as stated. Except the 4gb card that was a bonus did not come, now it's a nightmare trying to get that card out of them. Now it's soley for spite that I will not let it go. I will go to the BBB if I have to over a 15 dollar item. BTW Nikon sells the same 2 year warranty for 29.99!!! Do not do business with these people! |

I order online Samsung LN37B650 HDTV on June 16, 2008. Next day sales person “WILL” confirmed my order and told me that you will be receiving email shortly with tracking number. Today is June 22nd but I’m still waiting of tracking # b/c Abe’s of Main haven’t shipped yet.
I spoke to customer support several times last week and every day they saying your order will be ship today. Note: Cradit card already charged on June 18th. I’m not comfortable with my purchase b/c I don’t know what I’ll receive once they ship my order. |

Ordered an item online and then had to call in to confirm it. They've done this before and it's simply a way for them to upsell on more accessories. Then even though I chose to pay a little more for expediting the order, they sat on it for 2 days and so it did not arrive at the intended date. I missed having it for my vacation. There order processing and shipping is inconsistent. Don't waste your time.
