Abe's was great.. they did call to try to sell other accessories, but were not harassing in any way. i refused the accessories and they thanked me for my order and hung up. no problem whatsoever. I can totally understand then trying to add some money to the order with accessories cause their prices are amazing!!

Placed my order and received notification of order being received within two hours. I was e-mailed that the order was being processed, then received the shipping track number two days later and the camera then arrived within five days of my order. i would definitely use abes of maine again.

The day following my online order, a friendly Abe's customer service rep gave me a call confirming my order and recommending an accessory I had forgotten. The package shipped that day and it arrived on schedule. Great service!

Disappointed in lack of communication. Ordered plasma TV, told it was out of stock but would arrive at Abe's 7-10 days. Three weeks later customer service rep called to let me know TV was out of stock, should be delivered to Abe's in two weeks! No follow-up status provided. I wasn't in a hurry so I waited, but Abe's devil-may-care attitude was a disappointment. TV was ordered January 5, received March 3 -- two months later!

I bought a Nikon D70 Digital camera from these people. Their price was as low as any I could find. The order follow-up call from Abe's was very soft sell and completely courteous. The package arrived when they said it would. The packaging was excellent. The hardware is in perfect condition. When I phoned ABE's concerning some confusing info on Nikon's rebate form, my questions were answered knowledgably, albiet not until after I asked to speak to a manager. I would not hesitate to buy from Abe's anytime in the future.

I received a follow up call to thank me for my order. I thought I was getting helpful advise, when in actuality, it was a sales pitch to buy overpriced accessories. I bought a $19.99 battery for $50.00 (my problem). When I called to return the battery, I had to negotiate a better price because "David" didn't want me to return the item. It took almost two months to get the credit adjustment. I will never buy from Abe's of Maine again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought Nikon coolpix digital camera and SD. The price was reasonably cheap.They have called me to confirm my shipping address, what I want to purchase, and for security. That's very good. They delivered on time (I chose UPS-ground). The package was perfect and complete. Both the camera itself and Abe's of maine's service are very satisfied.

I was able to find the product i wanted very easily and it was the best price around. I bought a Canon Powershot S410 camera and was so pleased with their service that when i later needed another camera i purchased it there weeks later... a canon powershot s500. great service, speedy shipment. only weakness was when i called them up to find out when my product would ship i got bounced around a little to many different people who all tried to sell me more things.

I have researched the digital camera (Nikon D70 Outfit) at many different retailers. I found Abe's Of Maine to have one of the best prices. I got exactly what I wanted and exactly as advertised. They even include the rebate form in the package so that I don't need to get back to the web site to find the form and print it by myself. They are great!

The shipment is also pretty cheap compare to other retailers. But letting UPS put my >$1000.00 package on my front door without signing is scaring. They should include it even with $1 or $2 higher shipment should be acceptable by the customers.

The first time I received my camera, it was defective. I called up Abes, and they took care of it without any fuss. They sent me a replacement and payed for all the shipping involved. They even shipped the replacement via 2nd day air, which I didn't expect, to make sure I got it quickly. I am very pleased with their level of customer service and would gladly buy from them again.

My experience with Abe's of Maine was similar to every negative write up located herein. They call you back unnecessarily for no reason to "confirm" your order-- a logistical nightmare in timezones other that Eastern. I did call them back immediately, and I left 3 messages saying essentially, "Ship it already-- I paid for 2nd day air!" I emailed them (as my experience with online ordering in the past has taught me that some companies are just much better at email communication than phone) at the end of "day four" with no response and no updated status of my order. The next morning, when there was no email response, I called Abe's of Maine and was redirected numerous times to leave messages. When I refused and finally forced the person on the phone to satisfy my customer service needs, only then did they claim that they were shipping it that day. Time will tell... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ABE'S OF MAINE. Having lived in Maine prior in my life I never should have trusted them-- they're located in Brooklyn, NY, not even in Maine!'

I bought a camera from Abe's of Maine because they had the best price, good reviews, and a fair return policy. Another site had the same price (within a few cents), but had a lousy return policy. I was very pleased with the whole process with Abe's of Maine. One thing they did different from other companies was that someone called me the next day to confirm my order. He also tried to upsell me on accessories and offer further discounts - it was low pressure and I didn't mind.

My Sony DSC T33 digital camera purchase went far better than I had imagined. Abe's had the T33 in stock weeks before any other stores including Sony's own website. The phone salesman was very pleasant and he did not forcefully try to oversell a host of additional accessories as many other phone salesman attempt to do. Lastly, the camera was shipped the same day it was ordered.

We ordered (online) a 50” LCD HDTV from Abe’s of Maine. Over all it was an excellent transaction. As good as I’ve had anywhere online. Communication was very good. The shipping time was longer than the website indicated, but there was no major delay and Abe's called the next day with the actual shipping info. Shipping was handled by an offsite shipping service that also provided great communication and service. We saved $800+ (counting tax) from the BEST price we could find locally. We’re very satisfied with our purchase from Abe’s of Maine, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again.

Website has UPS ground as an option for shippiing this 50 inch tv. Got an email the evening I placed the order requesting a call to confirm the order. I called and was told the website should not have allowed for UPS ground as they only ship via trucking company. The cost was an additional $80 so not really a big deal. I was told the tv would be put on the truck the next day. However, the tv was not picked up by the shipping company until 3 business days later. Account info on Abe's website was never updated with the new charges.

This is my second purchase from Abe's of Maine for Photographic equipment. In both cases I received what I ordered as advertised in a short period of time. Would buy from Abe's again. Just ignore the sales pitch for additional gear if you don't want the gear. Don't blame the salesman for the sales pitch, thats their job. Thanks Abe's!

I almost passed up the Abe's of Maine site because their price seemed high and they were down the price list in the high priced group. But I read their "Check the site" message and saved $200 over most of the others. And their service was great. Their web site was very detailed and complete and their policies fair. The camera came a little earlier than promised and in perfect shape.
