Placed two orders on the same day, one for a flash and one for a 5dm2. Did it that way to take advantage of the $10 off per order. Very easy ordering online, got my order confirmations right away.
Got my shipping notice for the flash the next day but not for the camera. Checked the status online and it said the camera order was canceled. I called customer service and they said the order was not canceled and it should be shipped at the same time as the flash. I wanted assurance that it was going to be shipped. They forwarded me to a guy named Kyle who was the rep taking care of my order. He says that the order was not canceled and the status online was a mistake.
I received the flash next day (they are only across the river from nyc) but still no sign of the camera and no updated on the status online which still says the camera order was canceled. Called customer service again, this time they say they do not understand why the order was canceled and forwarded me to Kyle again. This time he says that the camera is right in front of him and it is ready to go out.
BUT...there is always a but...before it is shipped, the upselling began though it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. First came the usual, you're battery will only last you 30 minutes, we have have a special on additional batteries. I said I only want oem, no third party stuff. Then came the filters question followed by lenses, and then the batteries again. I reiterated that I only want US oem stuff, no grey market junk and I already had lenses and filters from my old setup.
So Kyle finally finishes the upselling and says they are US items, not grey market and that the camera will be shipped. Got my shipment notification the next day and was very happy to be playing with the new camera the day after.
Both camera and flash were not grey market as they came with Canon US warranty cards. Would I buy from them again? Maybe due to the upselling shenanigans.
