I recently purchased a refrigerator and stove from AJ Madison. My experience with this company was excellent and I will purchase from this company again. My order was delivered earlier than expected and the employee who answers the phone was very pleasant to work with. I did read up on other reviews for this company before placing my order and I do agree that this is a great company to work with. They have very competitive pricing and quick shipping (the delivery personnel was very helpful as well - even bringing the appliances into our home for no extra charge!). If you want to avoid the inexperienced sales people in the stores attempting to sell you things that you do not need and/or want (at inflated prices), then I would do your research on what you want to purchase and order it from AJ Madison!

I would not buy from AJMadison again. When I buy appliance from Lowes, the delivery person would put the gas dryer in my basement, install it for me, and haul the old one away. But the delivery person from AJMadison charged me $20 for taking the gas dryer down, another $40 for install, then another $20 for taking the old old up to the garage and they would not take it away. What a rip off. I tried to refuse delivery but AJMadison would charge me 25% restocking fee.

I would just buy from your neighborhood lowes and Home Depot.

I ordered a cook-top and wall oven on 9-23-09 and got the appliances delivered to my house as promised on 9-30-09. They were exactly what I ordered and in perfect new undamaged condition. The delivery guys were great and very helpful. They unloaded the items and also opened them up so that I could inspect them before I signed anything. I don't know how AJ Madison does it but I am glad I found them, saved me $500 compared to the prices of Lowes, Home Depot and Sears.

I purchased two Elkay sinks and related items (soap dispensers) from A.J. Madison.  The staff was professional, the sinks were shipped  quickly (drop shipped from Elkay), and arrived in perfect order and condition.  When A.J. Madison supplied me with a tracking number, I noticed what I thought was an error based on the shipping weights shown on the UPS tracking site (versus the weights per the spec sheets of the items I ordered).  I called A.J. Madison before the items even arrived to express my concern about the shipment.  The customer service person I talked to (Mushka) was VERY professional and prompt in following up with Elkay, and getting right back to me by phone.  She said she reconfirmed the accuracy of the shipments, but that if I had any problems once it arrived to call her immediately.  Turns out the UPS guys had the weight wrong, and the items were exactly what I had ordered.  What impressed me was the concern and the follow up by A.J. Madison's customer service.  Very happy.  Oh, and the price was the best I found anywhere.  Would definitely shop with them again.

I ordered a refrigerator for a project Sept 3.  I called to verify status.  I was told it would be shipped in 5-7 days.  I then called back after 10 days of no notice regarding shipping.  I was told it would be shipped the following day.  I received an email stating it had been shipped Sept 19.  After not receiving the product, I tried to call, but AJ Madison was closed for some "holiday".  I emailed and left phone messages.  I contact the shipping company, they said there was no shipment coming to my address Sept 28.  I again called and left email messages for AJ Madison, finally got through.  Now they are saying it's going to be shipped - you guessed it tomorrow.  I asked regarding expedited delivery since it was so late, they said it was possible, but I would have to pay extra.  Now it's supposed to arrive Oct. 5!!

I'm very impressed with AJ Madison as a company and their customer service.  Several practices set them apart. They empower their employees and managers to make decisions at the lowest levels - thus resulting in quick resolution of problems that might occur (and problems do occasionally occur and how a company responds is what sets them apart) I'm pleased with my purchase and thrilled with the customer service I received beginning to end: from the sales advise I received when deciding on my purchase to the quick resolution of a product warranty issue.   And as an added bonus, the delivery men work for AJ Madison, thus ensuring their company's customer service extends right to your front door.   Plus their prices can't be beat!

For my latest purchase from AJ Madison, I would rate them firt class in all departments.  Their pricing is good.  Salesman was very courteous and helpful.  The shipping was quick going from New York to Yuma AZ.  The only problem I had was a small dent in the front of the product.  This is not AJ Madison's fault in any way.  Obviously some one along the way mishandled the carton.  The lady in customer service at AJ Madison, that handled the dent problem, was extremely friendly, courteous, and very helpful.  I can highly recommend AJ Madison as a valued retailer.  I will gladly use them again.

I didn't need to contact the merchant, but contacted the delivery company. Their quality of customer service was "fair", as I called to reconfirm delivery after the confirmed date came/went without receipt of product. They apparently had a change in "shippers" and didn't call to notify us that the delivery was going to be delayed. We'd scheduled to have someone available to receive the delivery, as we'd purchased 8 refrigerators.

AJ Madison has very competitive pricing and extensive inventory, but the customer service is lousy. I placed an order and one of the items was backordered. A month later, I received an email saying that they could not get the backordered item and that the replacement was $300 more expensive. Rather than honoring the original price, they insisted on charging me the additional $300. Then, when the order arrived, one of the items was damaged and AJ Madison refused to replace it -- they claimed it must have been damaged when we removed it from the carton. I would never buy from them again!

I ordered a vent hood from them and confirmed the price and was charged.  A week later I requested confirmation of its shipping and was told it was on back order, then a month later that it was discontinued.  They then tried to see me a similar item for 50% more, refusing to honor the old price or product, despite the fact that the manufacturer said it was still in current manufacture (it is in fact still on the manufacturer web site) and in stock.
This store is dishonest, has poor service and I would never shop there again or suggest someone else do so.

AJ Madison is a great resource!  I will recommend their site to everyone I know.  I purchased my Northland All-Fridge/All-Freezer units from them and had the best experience.  They were competitively priced and have outstanding customer service.  When i discovered the glass shelves of my refrigerator had been damaged in shipping AJ Madison immediately took care of me going above and beyond my expectations with replacement.  My customer service agent, Noa, kept in constant touch with me until everything was perfect.  Thanks AJ Madison!

No issues with AJ Madison, but AJ Madison *did* select the delivery company and that company, HomeDirectUSA, is scary. They do not complete any of the tracking information so the customer can see the status and location of their order. I finally had to call AJMadison as my contractor was screaming down my neck for the built in appliances. Finally reached the delivery people, and the woman laughed! Thought it was terribly funny that HomeDirectUSA had "forgotten" to complete and update the tracking form. I said I found nothing humorous in a situation that was costing me $1000 per day in man-hours. I really like AJMadison; they're a fine company and I hope to do business with them again. However, next time, I'll place the order by phone and if they can't assure me of someone other than HomeDirectUSA for delivery, I'll probably take my business elsewhere.

I decided to get a Kitchen aid dishwasher and very soon figured that this was the biggest mistake of my life. The dishwasher broker down within 3 months, and it had been 3 months since it broke down and my dishwasher is still not fixed.
I literally have to call the company every week and they keep telling me that they have ordered the part that needs to be replaced and that it would take few days to arrive. The following week they tell me that they have ordered the wrong part, and so they would need to order it again.
They have ordered that wrong aprt 3 times until now, and i've been washing my dishes manually for more than 3 months now. Is this what I paid for???
