My husband found the stove at AJ Madison via internet. We were very impressed with the speed of the delivery as we do live in the rural southwest where delivery can often be problematic.
The stove arrived in good condition and our local gas co. was able to install it the same day. Needless to say, after a week without a functioning oven, we were thrilled. |

I purchased 4 appliances with them, with the promise of getting over $400 in rebates from the ever so polite salesperson, but that was back in Sept 07, and it is now almost May 08 and I still have not received a single penny. I have called them numerouse times, almost weekly, gotten constant assurances that the rebate is coming, and even had it escalated to the manager (supposedly), but it I have yet to see the rebate, or even be able to get this hypothetical manager's name and contact so I can speak to them directly. The sales person was quite nice, but don't let that deceive you since all his words have been empty promises, always saying that I should see the credit in the next few days. That next few days has turned into over 8 months. They seem to do a great job luring you in, but then after you buy, your on your own. Don't expect anything more from them except lipservice at best if you can actually get a hold of someone.

Horrible shopping experience as a Contactor. Unit was damaged within the package itself (not on the outside). They did and will do nothing to replace just the damaged items or a Broan Range Hood. I had to call Broan direct and was totally pleased with how Broan took care of us. AJ Madison was totally worthless. Good price but absolutely no customer service.

Very good service. My one criticism is not with AJ, but with Fisher and Paykel. Their bottom freezer - refreigerator shows a width of 31 1/8" However, the literature did not note that a 3/4" gap is needed against a wall, otherwise the door will not open. When the refrigerator was delivered, this became more obvious, and I needed to change my cabinet dimensions. Otherwise, a very nice refrigerator.

I was missing an item (sink strainer) from my order. I called Customer Service seven times and was put on hold for at least 30-40 minutes each time. No one came back on line to help me they just left me on hold. I then tried calling the Sales Department three times and each time they put me on hold and never returned to the phone. Both departments were rude and unhelpful. They didn't seem to care that I was an unhappy customer or the fact that I was missing part of my order which was paid in full. I called several times again asking to speak to a manager and no one would transfer my call. AJ Madison's Sales and Customer Service departments are horrible. I cannot believe how badly they treat their customers!

After I placed an order for thousands of dollars' worth of appliances, the online order tracking didn't have any information about the status of my order for over a week. So I called, and spent more than an hour on hold waiting to speak to a customer service representative. And when I did speak to one, she put me on hold and never came back. I never got any information, and finally I just had to give up. I'm not in the process of trying to cancel my order.
This is the kind of service I can expect when I'm dropping $4000 at your store? Never again. |

Regarding the product itself: I find that the refrigerator emits a unpleasant rubbery smell (whether plugged in or uplugged) which I hope will fade in time.

If you can imagine, I bought a $2700 oven and they sent the wrong product but they won't take it back! In fact, the product they sent was $270 cheaper and they won't even refund the difference! Because I missed their 48 hour window to let them know the product was wrong, they are taking no responsibility for it at all even after I volunteered to pay for return shipping and a restocking fee. I would never do business with them again and I am stuck with a $2700 oven to try to sell second hand. This experience is bad enough I filed a BBB complaint. Buyer beware!

Ordered $3000 worth of material (Bosch dishwasher, high-end faucets and hardware, etc). Web pages were great. Got FAST confirmation on email. Received tracking within 24hr. Dishwasher arrived via Yellow Freight (I had my kitchen contractor, an old teamster, accept the shipment - which helped!). Faucets were dropped shipped from manufacture and arrived separately. No tracking was available for partial ship, and that was a hassle, but overall I AM VERY PLEASED. I WOULD ORDER AGAIN FROM THESE DUDES. Prices are outstanding.

My shopping experience was EXCELLENT! I read the reviews and was worried but the delivery was fast, my order was accurate, customer service was very helpful; he even gave me his e-mail address to report any problems. I was told to make sure I unwrap my items before I signed for them and the deliveryman waited and allowed me to. I didn't have any problems with the merchandise. I ordered the 500 series Bosch washer and dryer and they are the best I have ever used!!! The rebates made it very affordable too. Customer Service e-mailed me the rebates. I have not sent them in yet but I don't anticipate any problems receiving them. You might want to keep copies of all receipts in case they lose them and you have to resubmit them. I would order from them again.

I was hesitant at first to order anything from this company because of the bad reviews I've read but I placed my order anyway and told myself we'll see what will happen.
I was very pleased with the customer service. They are very helpful and returned my e-mails and my calls during the process of my order. I bought LG refrigerator with a bottom freezer, (loved it!)over the counter microwave and a stove. The prices are much lower than other appliances stores and I received all my appliances in a timely manner, and in good condition. AJ Madison probably does most of its sales online, but they also maintain a large attractive showroom which they tout on their website. Since we live in Brooklyn, my wife and I visited the AJ Madison showroom yesterday, in search of a new gas range. There were many sales people manning banks of computer work stations. None of them looked up when we entered. When we asked one of them for help, he seemed rather annoyed, but said that someone would be with us soon. This was not true. After about twenty minutes of waiting and unsuccessfully asking a few other salesmen for help, we got fed up and left. We will make our purchase elsewhere.I would suggest not patronizing a company that treats its would-be customers with absolute contempt.

I have placed two orders from AJ Madison. The most recent was for a new Bosch electric range. I was hesitant at first about ordering a major appliance online but the whole experience was perfect. I called to make sure the range was in stock. Bought the extended warranty (which was hundreds less than local retailers). I was able to track the range as it shipped cross country so I knew when the arrival date was. The range arrived well packed and in perfect condition. I saved hundreds of dollars overall by getting it from AJ Madison with no tax and free shipping. I will not hesitate to buy my next major appliance from them.

Shopped with AJ Madison because they carried the specific model of refrigerator that I was looking for. The rest of the order for kitchen appliances was given to another on-line vendor since AJ was a litter higher on price.
In retrospect, not sure splitting the order was the best decision. I would recommend AJ to anyone. The processed the order promptly, shipped the unit promptly and kept me informed the whole time. The refrigeration has been sitting here for one week while I'm still waiting for the other vendor to deliver the rest of the appliances. |

The fridge took about a month to be delivered. While the estimated delivery time was accurate, I still think a month is too long to wait for a fridge. I ordered a washer/dryer from a different vendor and I placed the order with them more than a week later than I placed my order with AJ Madison. My washer/dryer arrived two weeks earlier than my fridge. The order tracking form with AJ Madison had two addresses listed as the delivery addresses; one was mine and one was not. I called AJ Madison three times to correct this error. The first time the operator said it was nothing to worry about and did nothing to fix the problem. I called again the next day, spoke to a different operator who told me a reason it was there that made no sense. I called a THIRD time, spoke to another operator who made the second incorrect address disappear. Then, on delivery day, I get a call from the truck driver asking me which address is correct!! Also, charging $200 for "white glove delivery" is ridiculous. I found out this did not even cover installation. Next time I will purchase appliances at a company that has a physical store with actual customer service and that does installation. Also, I found AJ Madison through pricegrabber.com-which INACCURATELY lists the prices of merchants such as AJ Madison. I researched this purchase for weeks only to find out that when pricegrabber says that delivery and tax are free when using this merchant, THEY ARE LYING!!

I ordered a coin operated washer and dryer for apartments I own and a stove for another apt. I had made it very clear when I ordered the apliances that the washer and dryer were to go to one address and the stove to another. When the delivery was attempted I was told that all 3 appliances had to be left at my address. I had to refuse the washer and dryer. I called to see if they could be rerouted but was told they could not be. I tried calling AJ Madison. NO ANSWER- NO CALL BACK -NOT VERY INTERESTED IN THE CUSTOMER!

The service and shipping were impressive while ordering. I was a bit concerned when I called after recieving the unit. It was not as described on the web site. When I asked about this units performance the salesman was very non specfic and evasive when answering my questions. The unit does perform well, but not quite as well as I would have hoped. It was a good experience overall.
