VERY VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
by nershoshana, February 13, 2008

My 17 year old daughter had her first flowers in a vase delivered by 1800flowers.com. Her boyfriend sent it for her birthday and valentine's day! I arrived home to put it in her room and could hear all the broken glass! There is no where either with the phone number or on line to report a delivery problem! I wanted to fix this before she got home. Her first time getting flowers should be a wonderful experience, this was not going to be! I didn't want to upset her boyfriend either! After 1 hour and many tries I succeeded in speaking to someone who refused to help me because I was the mother! The fact that she is a minor didn't help or that I could read her all the information off the box. I had to call the boyfriend! I wonder how many people when they receive it bother to call and complain about delivery problems? I wonder how many people would take the time to call? How many people would tell the sender?

They might have a nice website but they are Absolutely Undependable!

They might have a nice website but they are Absolutely Undependable. I have been using them for a few years and it works OK if you give them several days notice. After a thousand emails from 1800 Flowers around Christmas, I decided to look at their deals. I chose a nice arrangement for my Grandmother who lives Out of town for delivery on 12/24. They NEVER delivered the flowers but they made sure they charged me!!! I can't speak to my Grandmother on the phone because she is very hard of hearing even with a hearing aid. It wasn't until my father returned from vacation did I learn that no flowers were delivered. I can deal with the quality of flowers varying a little between orders, or the website being slow, but you have to actually DELIVER the flowers on an order.
I will NEVER use 1800 FLOWERS again. If you care about the person you are sending the flowers to, you will not use this company. Don't be convinced by the pretty pictures or alluring email discounts - It won't matter when your flowers aren't delivered! |

I ordered THANKSGIVING arrangements for my brother's home and for my sister-in-law's 90 yr. old Mom.
The deliveries were made on the specified dates, but there was no one at home at the time, so they just left the flowers on the ground OUTSIDE THE GARAGE DOOR IN NOVEMBER at my brother's house .... For Mom, they delivered a HALLOWEEN BOUQUET IN A VASE WITH BATS AND A SPIDER ON IT!! For THANKSGIVING!! How embarrassing to say the least. Needless to say, I would rather drive the 500 miles and hand deliver the flowers myself instead of using "800" again. |

I ordered flowers from 1800flowers for my Grandmother's funeral. The flowers never arrived and notice not sent until after funeral! I wanted to have flowers at my Grandmother's funeral since I could not be there personally. Ordered flowers with a guaranteed date of delivery. No call was made to me to let me know there was a problem. I ended up being the only grandchild who was not represented by at least flowers. It was embarrassing and made a very sad situation worse. Customer service seems to think saying sorry fixes everything. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was left on hold until I gave up. 1800flowers offered to send the flowers anyway (and still charge me). I asked if they planned on redoing the funeral also. The customer service representative would not come up with an acceptable result and just kept saying sorry. The reason given for no delivery was the florist turned down the order and 1800flowers didn't catch it in time to ask another florist. They did not give me a chance to reorder. They hang on to the money until it's to late to order from a competent company.

Just a big telephone center, not a real florist

I needed to send flowers to my sister for her birthday. She lives in the same city as I do. I started poking around online and started to order from 1800 Flowers.com. Come to find out 1-800-FLOWERS.com is just a telephone center. They were going to take my order and call a local florist to fill it. Not only that, but they were going to charge me a $12.99 "handling fee". What a crock. I called a local florist direct and got to talk to the person who designed my sister's flowers. They were beautiful, I got better service and better value for my money.

by nenitamala, October 23, 2007

This place is the WORST!!! They guarantee delivery, but there is no real guarantee...the only thing they can guarantee you is a HEADACHE. I ordered flowers for a coworker yesterday, and she still has not received it. She had a DIFFICULT day yesterday and I thought I would cheer her up with flowers. When it was time for me to leave, I had to tell her to expect the flowers. She worked LATE just to receive the package, which NEVER CAME. I called the office this morning and was told that the flowers were delivered to a WRONG ADDRESS, and NOT the address I had given them. I was then told that the flowers would be delivered today, by 5:00 p.m., well it's now 6:00 p.m. and still NO FLOWERS. I called the office numerous times and keep getting the run around. I would NEVER use them again!

My order never showed up. I ordered on 10/20. Your company sucks, to say it nicely. If you guarantee an order to be delivered on Sunday, then you should follow through!!

1-800-FLOWERS.com delivered a cheap inferior product that did not, in any way, resemble the product pictured and described on their website.
The roses were almost dead on arrival. But, much worse, the expensive-looking vase (with three-dimensional reliefs of angels) that was in the product title, description, and picture was replaced with a cheap plain white vase with a garish hot pink ribbon. Now I wonder how many other times I thought I was sending a nice expensive gift from 1-800-FLOWERS to someone across the country and they received something horribly tacky. Customer Service is based in India and did nothing but send me request after request for more information. No matter what information I provided, they said they needed more. Now, no replies. I tried sending them pictures of the item ordered, the item sent, and even forwarding their own company's Order Confirmation email. Customer Service said they couldn't open any of these or even HTML emails. Apparently, 1-800-FLOWERS Customer Service tactic is to stall, then ignore. I will never purchase anything from 1-800-FLOWERS again and I suggest you don't either! |

EMBARRASSING, HURTFUL, AND A HUGE ERROR
by effie1980, September 28, 2007
|
|||||||
|
Let's first off all talk about why people order flowers. It is to wish someone well after surgery, to display love or affection, or to congratulate -- to convey some sort of sentiment.
I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my father following major surgery to remove cancer. The bouquet was in a beer mug with flowers (as the froth) and came with a card for free. Via the online website, I asked that the card say -- "Congratulations on being a cancer survivor -- hopefully you will be able to enjoy some beer soon." I selected "Get Well Soon" as the category for the card. INSTEAD, the outside of teh card that came said "Congratulations, it's a boy" but the inside had my message. Now, this was sent to a man in the intensive care unit at a hospital. Did someone think twice about an awfully ironic card, sent to a man undergoing cancer treatment? A small error in this case was actually quite egregious. |

1800flowers should be called 1800screwup!
The flowers I ordered for same day delivery, never arrived. My high school best friend had a baby and I wanted to surprise her with flowers. She and I have been trying to reconnect after some major trust issues, so missing this delivery had a HUGE negative impact. She had the baby on Tuesday, I ordered the flowers before 9 am on Wednesday and realized on Thursday at 9 am they hadn't been delivered! She was leaving the hospital at 11:15 am, so I quickly called to remedy the situation. I was told it was the local florists fault and there was nothing they could do until they heard back from the florist. I called again at 10:30 and was given the same line, it was the local florists fault. 1800flowers took no responsibility, even though they are the business I paid for this product and service. I demanded a refund and was told it would take 3-5 business days to complete. I looked online to find a local florist and was able to get better flowers and immediate delivery for less money! |

CAVEAT EMPTOR ....HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!
by mikemehew, August 8, 2007

My aunt passed away in another state last month and we were unable to attend. I ordered an easel mounted heart-shaped spray described on their website as "Softly colored florals such as delphinium, mums, and heather, accented with soft wildflowers are arranged to create this open heart standing spray. This arrangement is sent directly to the funeral home. Our florists use only the freshest flowers available so varieties and colors may vary. Measures approximately 28"H x 27"W without easel." This was sent in the name of our entire family and cost over $ 180.00 A few days after the funeral I asked my mother how the arrangement looked. Her reply was shocking. She told me that the wreath was of such poor quality,i.e., plastic flowers, only 6-8 on the wreath, that she felt that it was necessary to apologize to my cousin and her daughters and that she was extremely embarrassed. I have contacted what passes for 'customer service" by email 3 times and get the same boiler-plat response promising to rectify the situation and that they would contact me by phone....yadayadayada...it has been three weeks....NADA....CAVEAT EMPTOR with these crooks !!!!

1-800 Flowers is not trustworthy, don't ever use them!
by staylee, July 30, 2007

I usually use 1-800 Flowers when sending flowers out of town or out of state. Last month I ordered a $39.99 bouquet of flowers in a plain glass vase. I ordered the Large (rather than the small or medium size). I live in Minnesota and sent the flowers to Washington state. I flew there a few days later to discover that the flowers that were delivered were the small size, actually they were the pee-wee size. I complained to 1-800 and asked them to check with the florist that delivered the flowers. Of course the florist said they sent the large arrangement. I just can't trust 1-800 florists anymore. Some florists they use are grocery stores with flower sections. I am going to get the name of a local florist there and call them directly when I want to send flowers in the future. My advice: 1-800 Flowers is not trustworthy, don't ever use them.

Late Delivery, Sparse Decoration, but will re-deliver.
by ccarber, July 18, 2007

I have used 1-800-flowers several times. Probably 40% of the time, the florist they used either screwed up the delivery, sent the wrong number of roses, or sent a low quality bouquet with dying flowers or sparsly decorated. I probably will not use them again. They were always willing to redeliver though, but really 1st impressions are what matters, why should I have to send a 2nd bouquet to say "Sorry about the first one"? I will just plan ahead and use proflowers, I have been pretty happy with the flowers from there.

DON'T PAY FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY, THEY WILL NOT DELIVER. They charged me $22.00 for next day delivery but then took two days. It was really important that the flowers arrive the next day, so when I called (after they did not arrive) they refused to refund the $22.00 but instead offered a voucher for future purchases to compensate. (this was for a $75.00 purchase!!!!) The flowers were being flown in from somewhere so I don't think they ever intended to deliver the next day. When I tried to cancel they said "we can't". ProFlowers will make sure the flowers arrive the right day, and will refund delivery fees when they don't. (I should have just ordered from them to begin with) Don't bother with 1-800-Flowers, their Customer Service is just terrible and you will end up disappointed and frustrated.

1-800-Flowers webpage did not provide proper security
by fedupniceguy, June 15, 2007

We were about to finish our online order by entering the credit card information, but at that point my wife and I noticed that the web page was NOT secure (SSL encrypted). The page was listed as HTTP instead of HTTPS, and our internet browser (Firefox) also indicated that it was NOT a secure web page, because it did not show a security lock.
This is important! You don't want to be entering confidential data on a non-secure page. We went over to FTD.com and placed our order there instead. Their website clearly indicates the proper security. I am a very experienced and knowledgeable internet user, especially for security matters. But when I complained to 1800flowers, their response was that everything was fine. I guess it was just my imagination. |
