I had ordered flowers for our 10th wedding anniversary
more than two weeks ahead of schedule to be delivered to my wife's business address on a Friday afternoon. She has a stressful job and receiving flowers brightens her day...if she were to ever receive them. My wife works long hours, usually from about 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., but on this day we had dinner reservations, so she was planning to leave at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening. At 5:45 her phone rang and it was the florist letting her know the delivery man was about 45 minutes away and asked her to wait! This would have caused us to be late for our dinner reservations, so she asked if they could deliver them to our home. They replied it was out of their delivery area! Bottom line is ordering flowers more than two weeks in advance is not early enough to have flowers delivered during regular business hours. When I emailed customer service to complain, they gave me a 50% credit for flowers that were never delivered. I called and demanded a full refund which they said they would comply, but were not apologetic and were somewhat rude. I had used 1800flowers for years, but never again. We only have one 10th anniversary and they did not deliver. This was not the first time they failed to deliver, although the problems before were usually on busy holidays, so I gave them some slack. This time time was for a normal Friday business day where there are no excuses.
