The Balvenie DoubleWood Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a 12 year old single malt which gains its distinctive character from being matured in two woods. During its period of maturation The Balvenie DoubleWood is transferred from a traditional oak whisky cask to a first fill Spanish oak sherry cask. Each stage lends different qualities to the resulting single malt - the traditional casks, having previously held bourbon, soften and add character, whilst the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavor.

Curiositas uses a heavily peated malted barley as the cereal varietal to produce a unique, fresh, peated expression. This rare peated single malt, from the Heartland of Speyside, has wonderful overtones of peat reek, combined cleverly with a background of fruity, floral, heathery notes and an appealing presence of oak wood in the finish. Traditionalists believe that peated malts achieve optimum balance of peat-bittersweet and oak infusion, after 10 years of maturation. In fact peated BenRiach is a return to the original Speyside character and flavor of malts typical of the nineteenth century. Curiositas is a distinctive and welcome addition to the Speyside scene this is a dram to be savored with a dash of water.

The Balvenie Single Barrel Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a 15 year old single malt which is drawn from a single bourbon cask of a single distillation. Each cask forms a limited edition of hand-numbered bottles - there will be a maximum of 350 bottles from any one cask - so each bottle is unique and unrepeatable. Each cask is subtly different, however, The Balvenie Malt Master selects for bottling only those casks that have the essential characteristics of The Balvenie Single Barrel - particularly honey, vanilla and oak notes.

American fans of Johnnie Walker Scotches who have been green with envy of those abroad who could buy the companys Pure Malt 15 year old whisky will now just be in the Green Label, as the spirit with a label of the same color is known For the first time its being imported to these shores The whisky had been available only overseas or at duty-free in the past decade It represents a style of whisky that is somewhere between single malts and blends Pure Malt is a marriage of different single malts, but doesnt include any grain whiskies as a blended Scotch wouldSometimes called a vatted malt, such whisky has not been well known in the United States Johnnie Walker Pure Malt may change all that The Green Label jumps out like a single malt, but then takes the palette on a flavor safari that no one malt could travel, commuting back and forth from smoky, peaty Islay to elegant, floral Speyside Unlike a blend, which typically will steer its components toward subtlety, the Pure Malt always maintains the edge of its pot-stilled parts This makes an interesting taste exercise as you endeavor to pick out the single malts, which include Talisker from the Isle of Skye, Caol Ila of Islay, and Linkwood and Cragganmore from the Speyside Highlands The nose is honeyed and perfumed, with cake icing, peat and a bit of cheese The honey and smoke continue on the palate, joined by licorice as the cheese hint turns to sharp Stilton The long finish is buttered toast with marmaladeJohnnie Walker master blender Jim Beveridge says the challenge of Green Label was to have a wide flavor spectrum that didnt clash and a whisky that was at heart a Walker malt That doesnt always work We had to introduce different kinds of wood The Islay whiskies were aged in American oak to best let the distilleries, character show through, and some Speysides rested in European oaks, he reports Its all about making the flavors stand out more and be more vibrant That allows us to create flavors that arent possible from one malt alone Liquor SCOTCH WHISKY

Aberlour a'bunadh is a natural single cask strength malt whisky Taken directly from specially selected sherry casks it is bottled as simply as possible without the use of modern filtering methods or the addition of waterThe three main characteristics that distinguish Aberlour a'bunadh from the other single malts are:-Original Cask Strength means that the whisky is bottled at the strength of the cask, which in the case of the first batch of a'bunadh is 596% Not diluted, the whisky possesses a greater aromatic complexity Most malts of the old days were cask strength-Not Chill-filtered Today most malt whiskies are chill-filtered to prevent the whisky becoming cloudy when adding water or ice This process, which did not exist in the 19th century, removes some richness and mouth feel as well as some fruit and sherry character Aberlour a'bunadh is a true replica of the old days' malts-Only the best Sherry Butts, which previously held oloroso, have been selected by Douglas Cruickshank, Aberlour's Distillery Director These casks are the rarest and the most precious used for whisky maturation Again, they were used in the old days when sherry was imported from Spain in casks which were then left empty sitting in UK ports or shipsIt is presented in an elegant dark green gift carton carefully crafted using ancient die-stamping methods The unique bottle recalls the traditional flasks used by locals in the 19th century to collect their precious whiskyA'bunadh (a-boon-akh) literally means the origin in Gaelic and is a toast to the forefathers of today's whisky makers, bringing back the true dimension of olden days Single Malt whisky Color: Rich goldPalate: Intense fruity flavours; buttery and creamy with a syrupy fruit sweetness; soft on the palate with a rich chocolate orange-like note Nose Full flavours, slightly smoky with red apples and a fine sherry characterFinish: Long mouth-warming feeling and mellowness; slightly peaty with a honey and spicy aftertaste Liquor Single Malt Scotch

Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is a velvety-textured single malt whisky, for confident, colourful, dynamic luxury spirit drinkers who like to take the lead. A mature Glenmorangie that is transferred from the original ex-bourbon cask and then extra matured in port pipes, shipped from the Quintas or wine estates of Portugal. Maturation in the ruby port pipes develops The Quinta Ruban into a voluptuously smooth spirit with a complex balance of sweet and dry flavours that engage the entire palate and envelope it in an intriguing balance of smooth velvet and crisp, cooling textures. Non chill-filtered and with an ABV of 46%, its key flavor notes are rich, chocolate and mint.

Gift Box Robert Scott has been immersed in the Scotch Whisky trade since he left school at the age of 16 Starting first as a lowly distillery worker responsible for cleaning the stills, he rose steadily through the ranks, gaining extensive knowledge of the distilling trade By the time he had reached his 32nd birthday not only had he gained an enviable reputation as an accomplished all-rounder in whisky production but, most importantly, he had become one of the most respected nosers of Scotch Whiskies As time passed, he became increasingly expert at selecting different malts to meet the demands of his exacting employer Mr George Christie, founder of the Speyside DistilleryIn the 1970s Robert Scott was appointed Master Distiller, a position he held in the finest traditions of this ancient craft until retirement beckoned Prior to caring full time for his garden in Glasgow, Robert was, however, to be given one final assignment, namely to create a personal selection of his favourite single malt whiskies Thus Scotts Selection was bornThe selection criteria are drastic, from the choice of the malt to the optimal maturation time for each cask The aim of this collection is to bottle whiskies as close as possible from their original taste in the cask Whiskies are filtered (but not chill filtered) before bottling, which removes the impurities without changing the taste The malts are not diluted All the whiskies from this selection are bottled at cask strength1969 Vintage Bottle Shown Liquor SINGLE MALT SCOTCH
