The new Okuma "Salina" spinning reels have been designed with a very powerful drive system. The main gear is helical cut from high density material 50 percent stronger than standard gearing, and combines with a machine cut brass pinion gear to produce a drive train that is smooth, efficient, and ideal for tough fishing conditions. Salina reels have a dual force drag system incorporating oiled felt washers. A multi-disk drag in the front of the spool works in conjunction with a secondary drag at the back of the spool to maximize high drag pressures and give a smooth release of line. It has an oversized bail arm, elliptical oscillation for improved line lay, 4 corrosion resistant stainless bearings and a quick set antireverse roller bearing. Okuma's "Hydro Block" seal protects the drag system from moisture. The frame, side plate and rotor are rigid diecast aluminum and the forged aluminum screw-in handle has an oversize grip. Okuma's Rotor Equalizing System guarantees a smooth retrieve.M
