This very ripe and somewhat sugary Zin seems destined to win as many detractors as fans, and, while we count ourselves with the latter as far as its balance and keen, fruity focus goes, it is so sweet as to stretch the limits of table wine definition. For all of its obvious sweetness, however, it remains surprisingly fruity and not unduly skewed to chocolate and heat, and it will serve as an uncommon but wholly satisfying companion to a platter of meal-ending cheeses. Dark plum color with a hue of crimson red. An opulent bouquet of blackberry, red currant, plum and dark cherry fruit emerge from the glass. Black currant, cherry and spice intertwine for an exceptionally balanced palate. Smooth tannins help build depth on the back palate for a lengthy finish, rich with creamy vanilla and blackberry.

A mild growing season yielded a fruit-driven wine with soft tannins. Deep purple color, nearly black at its core with a crimson hue. Tobacco, black currant, black olive and plum aromas radiate from glass. Dark berry fruit unfold across palate adding weight and dimension. Hints of spice and raspberry build on back palate for a smooth finish. Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot
