A very exotic, almost kinky nose of Asian spice, licorice, truffle, and jammy kirsch is followed by a medium to full-bodied, plum, fleshy wine with sweet tannin, and low acidity in a very evolved style. Certainly among the very good vintages of Lafleur over the last 20 years, this is the most evolved and drinkable.

A color of Indian ink with dark crimson tinges. Complex, it exudes aromas of black and red fruits (wild strawberries, cherries) mingled with a hint of sweet spice (vanilla) and mocha. first taste is supple with good structure revealing its powerfulness; it is tremendously velvety-smooth. tannins are clearly perceptible and pleasantly integrated. flavors are delightfully long. It's undoubtedly finest vintage of La Fleur de Bouard so far. Wine Spectator rating: 91.
