Grapes sourced from old vine growth around Langenlois and nearby Zobing, Gobels-burg, Schiltern and Mollands. Planted mainly in loess (80%) with the rest (20%) in weathered gneiss soils. Hand harvested and sorted. Brief maceration, fining, and fermented in steel tanks at 19-21 degrees celsuis. Racked and aged on remaining lees for 1-2 months.. Hundsleiten is located on the Bisambergkette- a mountain range at the gate to Vienna - the same latitude as Burgundy. The soil is “flysch' which is an alternating succession of clay and sandstone, interspersed with Quartz which make it a classic vineyard for growing Gruner Veltliner. Hundsleiten means “difficult work here,' in German, due to the steep slopes of the vineyard. Since the year 1848 the knowledge of wine has been passed on from generation to generation in the Moser-Family in Rohrendorf. In the 1950's Lenz Moser revolutionized viticulture in many countries of the world by developing a high vine training system. In 1986 his son Sepp Moser founded a new estate, carrying his name, on the basis of the family-owned vineyards. An enterprise with a structure unique for Austria had come forward.
