The Wine Advocate rating: 98. Robust, rich and full flavoured, displaying complex and varied fruit and spice characters with abundant fine tannins leading to a long lingering finish. This vintage is very well structured and with further bottle age will become a wonderful mouth filling harmony. I am often asked how long this will take. It's about seven years till wine plateaus but it should live many years beyond with good cellaring but do watch corks as some will last decades but more than likely most much less. Honeysuckle, brioche, and honey drizzled chevre on warm toasted artisan bread are first things to hit you on nose of this ten year old bubbly. next thing that grabs you about this straw colored beauty is how amazingly fine mousse is. I have never seen an Argyle sparkling wine, with such delicate, tiny bubbles. That delicacy dances across palate just like old monk said, I am drinking stars! Age has brought this wine amazingly rich flavors of vanilla bean, creme brlee, persimmon, and baked pear with delicate hints of licorice, peach, and spun sugar. It's astounding that a flavor profile can be so creamy yet have such a defined thread of acidity woven through it, but this wine does, finishing with clean acidity of a perfect sparkler.
