Beautiful, deep ruby color. 2011 was coolest vintage in Walla Walla Valley in 20 years. It was a winemakers vintage and one that will forever separate men from boys. Everything had to be executed to perfection in vineyard, a feat in which we managed to accomplish. Merlot, being earliest variety we have to ripen, was truly at home in this vintage and produced a wine I can aptly describe as resembling finest Right Bank Claret from Bordeaux. Such is its leaness, levity, and beauty. nose is just loaded with pure red and blue berries, along with floral notes. Fantastic acid punctuates lovely finish.

The 2009 vintage is administrator Philippe Dalhuin-s finest effort to date. I don-t think I have ever enjoyed a Le Petit Mouton (which represents 27% of their total production) more than his 2009 which is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon 22% Merlo... 1992 vintage of this wine was ranked #4 on Wine Spectator's Top 10 Wines of 1994 Merlot 78%, Cabernet Sauvignon 13%, Malbec 5%, Cabernet Franc 3%. Beautiful dark color. warm 2009 vintage produced a very fine and generous Merlot. It is already drinking gorgeously. wine has a stunning bouquet of berries, fresh blooming flowers, cedar shavings, and mocha. On the palate, it is incredibly long, lush, and soft, with pure fruit and melted caramel. This is a truly hedonistic Merlot and a fine example of why I love making this varietal. The new release of Continuum - the new Mondavi project that has some pretty serious buzz around it, receiving big scores 94 to 98 points since the inaugural vintage in 2005. 2010 Continuum is another great Collectible vintage.

This vintage of Sonnette is deep ruby in color, and has rich, ripe cherry, cassisand blackberry fruit aromas. Firm tannins and sweet oak combine with agentle hint of pepper and spice to yield a full-bodied wine with excellentbalance and a rich, long, lingering finish that will continue to develop withadditional bottle age.

The wine of the vintage? There are only 10,000 cases of this extraordinarily rich, dense 2002 that is as powerful as the 2003 (even the alcohol levels are nearly the same, 12.85%) . It is dark ruby/purple to the rim, with notes of English walnuts, crushed rocks, black currants, and forest floor, dense, full-bodied, and opulent, yet classic with spectacular aromatics, marvelous purity, and a full-bodied finish that lasts just over 50+ seconds. Huge richness and the sweetness of the tannin are somewhat deceptive as this wine seems set for a long life. Administrator Frederic Engerer seems to be more pleased with what Latour achieved in 2002 than in any other recent vintage. This is an incredibly elegant vintage. It transports you into a world of luxury as soon as you get first whiff of its nose of red berries, flowers, tobacco and spices. It possesses velvety substance and mellowness. A sure sign of exceptional wine, you can drink it immediately or in 20 years time. summer heat wave undoubtedly left its mark on this vintage. Very deep purplish-red colour. oak component comes through first and foremost on nose at this stage, with mocha and roasted aromas. However, there is bright, attractive jammy fruit (reminiscent of blackberry preserves) in background, just waiting to open up. 2003 Clos les Lunelles is fairly massive on palate, with considerable richness typical of vintage as well as a tight tannic texture. There is a velvety quality on middle palate and a very long aftertaSainte tannin is quite round and ripe. Is the 1999 Ausone the wine of the vintage? Dense purple color, a compelling bouquet of licorice, minerals, black and blueberry liqueur, extraordinary delineation, high tannin, superb extract, and phenomenal richness all are the stuff of a legend. This wine seems impossible to have emerged from a vintage like 1999. Proprietor Alain Vauthier produced only 20,000 bottles because he eliminated one-fourth of the tiny crop.
