This vintage timepiece is modeled after a watch used by the German Kampfschwimmer during the 1940's. It features a modern, larger case size and today's high tech, precision assembly. The vintage SuperLuminova luminous material is applied to the bottom layer while an opaque top layer with laser cut indices allow the luminous material to shine through. The segmented blued luminous hands were chosen specifically to be as close to the historic model. The Dievas Vintage California features a Swiss Made Unitas 6497 mechanical movement further decorated with Côtes de Genève and blued screws. The design idea came from observations of the ruins of Erechtheum Temple (on the Acropolis in Greece) finished by 405 B.C. Its unique plan features three facades at different levels, and is famous for complex, exquisite details; most notably the loveliest Ionic capitals ancient Greece ever produced. This timepiece from the latest Architect 2001 collection mirrors the temple's classical beauty in many crucial ways.
