First, by virtue of its proximity to the ocean, we are afforded one of the longest growing seasons on the state, allowing for full development of intense varietal character. Secondly, our Firepeak Vineyard is planted at the foot of Islay Mountain, the last in a chain of extinct volcanoes known as the Seven Sisters, providing unusual soils of volcanic mass and structure. These factors, along with winemaker Christian Roguenant's intrinsic talent of blending small lots of Chardonnay into one exemplary wine each vintage, is what Grand Firepeak Cuvee, or GFC, is all about. Great grapes (where it all starts) and Alex's winemaking talents resulted in a wine that enjoys enticing aromas of dark berries including boysenberries and raspberries. There's a sweet entry of brown sugar and molasses followed by a bit of orange zest and coriander. core of wine tastes of fleshy plums with a spicy note of cardamom from oak aging. Reminiscent of our early Edna Valley Pinots, this medium weight wine is silky smooth but with a solid fruit center. Favorite food pairings include marguerita pizza, sweet potato fries and Thanksgiving with all of fixings.

Paragon Chardonnay displays an attractive bouquet of pear, ripe apple, apricot and light pineapple, with underlying brown spice notes of cinnamon and clove. This brilliant, medium-bodied wine combines a fresh mouthfeel with hints of vanilla to create an appealing acidity.

Edna Valley Cabernet Sauvignon features jammy black fruit notes complemented by hints of vanilla, leather and cocoa powder. This medium-bodied wine is classic in style with layers of ripe fruit, balanced acidity and finishing with fine, firm tannins.

Grapes for the Carpe Diem Chardonnay have been selected from the Firepeak Vineyard, nestled in the picturesque Edna Valley. The cool coastal climate of the Edna Valley allows for one of the longest growing seasons in California, and produces fruit that is ideal for this full, rich and complex wine. This wine is made from Chardonnay clones chosen for their dynamic flavor profile, cluster and berry size. Fermentation: 100% barrel fermented at 58 degrees. Barrel Regime: 25% new, 75% one year and older French oak. Barrel Aging: Nine months, sur lies. The good acidity and creaminess of this wine pairs beautifully with roasted chicken and seafood, especially dishes featuring scallops and halibut.

For three decades, we’ve crafted flavorful Chardonnay grapes from the Edna Valley into award-winning wine. Our most recent release, the Edna Valley Vineyard Chardonnay, displays an attractive bouquet of quince, pear, ripe apple, apricot and light pineapple, with underlying brown spice notes of cinnamon and clove. This medium-bodied wine has a fresh mouthfeel with hints of vanilla and a bright acidity that combine to form a long, pleasing finish.

We sourced the majority of our Pinot Noir from Edna Valley, which we like for its distinctively cool climate, ideal for this varietal. Near the town of San Luis Obispo, this valley has a unique east–west alignment that allows fog to funnel in from the Pacific. This results in temperate days and a long growing season, producing Pinot Noir with ripe tannins and aromatic black-cherry notes. The fruit from Monterey carries a more brambly minerality, adding balance and complexity.One of the most difficult wines to make, Pinot Noir is fickle and demanding, requiring delicate handling and careful attention.
