Sony NWZ-E473RED (4 GB) Digital Media Player

I found the perfect present for both my daughter and us parents, and that is the Sony Walkman a 4GB MP3 Player (model NWZ-E463). You can find these at just about $80 and you will be delighted at the sound that this puts out. We found ours at Best Buy and they will also offer you to purchase a one, two, or three year warranty.

Description
This red MP3 player weighs in at less than one pound, the viewing screen is approximately 1-¼” x 1-5/8” in size. The overall size is 3-7/8” from top to bottom, 1-¾” from side to side, and only 5/16” thick. On the right-hand side you will see a + and - volume control button. This also has a hold button, this will allow you to keep your present icon in place and not accidentally switch to another icon while you are using the player.  On the face of the MP3 player you will also see several buttons which will give you to the option to switch back to a former screen or home. This also has a 5-way button which will allow you to play/pause/can confirm button, and up and down option, and side to side option. On the bottom is where the headphone jack is located (you cannot operate this MP3 player without a set of headphones plugged in. On the very bottom is where you will plug in the USB cable to charge and down load your music from your PC. The power button is also located on the face of this unit. There is a strap hole for a strap but this does not come with a strap. The microphone and reset button is located on the back side of the player (you will need to use a small pin to be able to reset your player if needed).

Experience
We have had this for quite a while now, and we are enjoying everyday that we use it. Once you make it through the initial stage of getting set-up you will have a lot easier time of putting you cd’s on this player. Some PC’s do not always notice this device and you will have to go into the Walkman program located when you go to “MY Computer” and click on Walkman and you will see the set-up file, you will need to click on this file to get started and it will take you through an application to get this program installed in your PC. You will need this to load your cd to the walkman. Once this is done you should have no problems loading your music to your walkman. Your pc will have to play out the songs to their entirety (full time span) to get them on the play list located in the Media Go program. Once this is done it is only a matter of seconds to put the songs on your walkman.

You will also see 12 different icons and these include: Sensme Channels, FM radio, voice recording, videos, music, photos, play lists, podcasts, bookmark, music unlimited, go to song playback screen, and settings. There is also a battery charge icon located in the upper right hand corner of the display screen, and in the upper left hand side you will see a play/pause and music icon. There are other things that you will get when you purchase your new player and they include the walkman, one set of ear buds, one USB cable (for charging), quick start manual, and an attachment that will allow you to connect to a cradle that is not supplied in this set up. This will hold up to 2000 songs and a whole lot of room to watch movies.  This will also hold a ton of pictures, all of my pictures that are on my pc have fit easily onto this player.

We call this fun on the go, we have used this when working out or just going out for walks. Our daughter loves this when we go on those long road trips. We will usually have to tell her to turn her music down because the sound is loud enough to hear even though she has ear-buds in her ears. You will keep a smile on your child’s face if they were to get one of these for their birthday. The warranty that Best Buy gives us when we purchased this, covers any kind of damage, even if it gets smashed from being stepped on. As far as the battery life goes, as long as you charge this every night, your walkman will never go low on its battery life. This player will go into a sleep mode when you do not use it after a little bit. But, all you have to do when this happens, all you have to do is touch any button to reactivate it again. Basically very simple to use.

Conclusion
This is great for everyone that loves to make up their own music library. The player is very light and is liable to slip out of your pocket, so you will need to be aware of where you keep it. The warranty is a plus as long as you keep it enforced, Five stars for how light and compact this is. This does come in other colors ours just so happens to be red.
