Moscato is the Italian word for 'Muscat', and the name muscat refers to both the wine style and range of muscat flavoured grapes used to make highly flavoured wines such as Moscato. While there are many ‘muscat’ grapes used for wine, Jacob’s Creek uses two principle grape varieties to make both still and sparkling Moscato, the first is Muscat of Alexandria and the second is Muscat Blanc a’ Petits Grains. Muscat grapes range in colour from white to almost black and have a definite sweet and floral aroma with a musky and sweet flavour.

Our Rex Goliath Moscato is a very special wine. Bright, crisp, and decadent. I liken sipping it to sipping liquid gold. It’s well-balanced with just the right acidity combined with pretty floral aromas that bloom into deliciously sweet flavors of peach and apricot. For our Red Moscato, winemakers bring together sweet, exotically perfumed Moscato and fresh, berry-licious Merlot to create a beautiful, blissful blend. We source premium grapes from some of California’s most acclaimed wine growing regions, known for producing fruit with extravagant aromas, concentrated fruit flavors and balanced acidity. Winemakers allow the skins and juice to share a brief romance—just 24 hours—to give this wine its pretty color. The wine is then cold-fermented and aged entirely in refrigerated stainless steel tanks to preserve fresh, fragrant aromas and flavors.
