Plenty of hiding places are needed to acclimate this fish to its new surroundings, but open swimming areas are required as well. Like other Anthias, this species is hermaphroditic where the largest female in a group will change to replace a male that perishes.

White Bubble Coral This Long Polyp Stony (LPS) Coral has large polyps similar to small balloons, each with a light yellow or white tinge. Beneath the fleshy polyps is a hard skeleton. Due to its long sweeper tentacles, the White Bubble Coral requires adequate space between itself and other coral. This coral benefits from the addition of trace elements, strontium and calcium. As the fleshy polyps are delicate, careful handling is a must, and should be only handled by its stony skeleton.

The tentacles on each polyp are often green. As a semi-aggressive coral, ensure it has ample space from other corals as its tentacles can extend up to six inches to sting them. Matted Filefish Also known as a Seagrass Filefish, Matted Leatherjacket, Bristletail Leatherjacket, Sagoksok (Philippines), Fuchidorikawahagi (Japan), or Bristletail Filefish. The shallow reefs and rubble zones provide safety for the Matted Filefish in the wild. This fish can commonly be found around seagrass. Although this species does eat pesky Aiptasia Anemones, it will also nip at corals and clams. The Matted Filefish is a shy and non aggressive fish that will only show aggression towards inverts and conspecifics.
