I purchased a Tungsten E2 because I just started back to grad school and I suddenly need somewhere to put a dozen manuals, and get a whole lot more organized. While I would say I was satisfied with the Tungsten, you will love this product. Read full review »

Useless

bylwmsyndicate Sep 29, 2008
4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Case feels nice, stylus has a good heft and feel.
Cons This PDA is like a return to the days of the Commodore 64.
Recommended it? No

I heard so many good things about Palm, and my wife bought a Treo phone, (which she pretty much just uses as a phone), so I thought that, instead of sending my worn out Dell Axim X30 Pocket PC for surgery and refurbishment, I'd buy a shiny new Palm. I'll cut to the chase- My Pocket PC ran rings... Read full review »

Pros OK, when it works
Cons Lousy warranty and repair policies

My one-year old Tungsten e2 was not charging anymore on my palm cradle. I found that one of the contacts from the cradle was pushed into the base. It did the same thing to the cradle cable when I plugged it directly into the PDA. I called Palm and they were just to happy to repair the problem for... Read full review »

13 Helpfuls 14 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Screen is brighter
Cons 7 hours trying to get it to sync, the WiFi card, fooling with the Bluetooth.
Recommended it? No

Palm is no longer the leader in easy to use PDAs.

I love my Tungsten E. Its simple. It does what I want it to do - keep me organized. I bought it after I returned the "paper weight" called the T5

So I bought the E2 thinking it can only get better. Well, no. Its seems that they... Read full review »

Tungsten E2 - Crashed when encrypted

bydupee Mar 9, 2008
7 Helpfuls 8 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros great screen, overall functionality, nice features, SD card slot is pretty convenient,...
Cons Unreliable firmware, many quirky crashes, doesn't like to have bells & whistles...
Recommended it? No

I bought this little jewel about a year ago, and it served me well, but had a tendency to crash when I utilized the security feature of encrypting my information- in other words, I opted to LOCK the device at "power off", which requires one to enter password to unlock, little did I know that... I purchased a Palm Tungsten, E2 Bluetooth PDA a few months ago from ebay. This item was in the last hour of auction and the bidding was climbing fast. Before I knew it this little gem had went from $100.00 to over $200.00.

Naturally I didn't want to be outdone. I kept hitting the bid... Read full review »

Pros Umm...looks cool
Cons Poorly made, no warranty support so to speak...don't waste your money.

I've never been more disappointed. I bought a new Palm Tungsten E2 for $199 plus tax. Within 2 months, it quit and would not turn on. Only a hard reset would fix it.

I turned it over to the store where I bought it and they replaced it with a new E2. Guess what, after 3 months, it did the... Read full review »

Tungsten E2 search does not work correctly

bybawb23 Dec 4, 2007
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Legible, sharp screen, even in bright light; lots of memory available
Cons My own memory is better than this device, since SEARCH DOES NOT WORK.
Recommended it? No

I bought the E2 after owning three previous Palms. As others have said, these were my replacement brain. I love the E2's display and the speed (vs my previous one, a IIIxe). BUT... I need to be able to search and the search function simply does not work.

If you click the magnifying glass... Read full review »

I'm somewhat grateful to the sales at Best Buy clerk who strongly suggested the extended warranty. In fairness, Best has been very tolerant of me, every time I return, grumbling about the latest problem with my Tungsten. I shouldn't blame them for my problems with this thing, but if they know it is... Read full review »

I enjoy having a palm to carry around to keep track of all of my phone numbers and what not. Course, that could be from my phone not even working at the moment, but in any case it's definitely useful.

I find the priced value of it to be a considerably good price for what it handles and... Read full review »

I have owned many many pocket devices over the years, some were better than others, this one falls somewhere in between. I am no computer wiz, nor am I some business mogul that needs to be in ten places at one time. So PDA was not a necessity in my life, although I have found over the last few years that it does come in handy and has lots of bonuses. My first PDA was a SONY Clie (about six years ago). Palm Organizers - Tungsten E2

byoctoberbaby75 Mar 17, 2007
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Intuitive, platforms are pretty much the same, effective and simple.
Cons Costly repairs if needed, fairly fragile even when in case.
Recommended it? Yes

I have owned a few Palm Pilots and this one is pretty good. The one issue I have had with all the palms - dropping the palm will almost certainly break the palm and need to be sent for repairs. Most likely the Palm will be out of warranty since it only lasts for some ridiculously short amount of... Read full review »
