Nutro Max Cat Roasted Chicken Flavor: Expensive and Stinky

Pros The kittens love it.
Cons This food produces the most horrible gas in the kittens.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  This is a nutritious food choice for kittens, but may produce horrible gas in some kittens.
My daughter came home with two kittens a couple of months ago. She wanted to make sure they had good nutrition, so she bought a bag of Nutro Max Cat Roasted Chicken Flavor for kittens and pregnant or nursing cats. The kittens loved the food and ate it well. We soon realized that this food gave them incredible gas, however. It was almost impossible to believe that such tiny little kittens could create such a horrible smell. It was enough to chase us out of the room!

I quickly told her that we would not be buying any more of this Nutro Max Cat Roasted Chicken Flavor. It was very expensive (she paid around $12 for a 3 pound bag at the pet store) and it was simply not worth the smell it created in our home. We switched to another brand and the gas problem immediately went away.

Nutro Max Cat Roasted Chicken Flavor cat food contains important vitamins and minerals that contribute to a healthy cat. Nutro guarantees satisfaction with this cat food; a contact number is provided on the bag. They state that you can return the unused portion of the food for replacement or refund. I suppose I could have done this, but we made it through the 3 pound bag of food and then switched to another brand.

Other kittens might not have the gas problem with this food, as it could be specific to my kittens. However, noting how they reacted to this food, I will not be buying it again for our household. Because it appears to be such a nutritious product, however, I will cautiously recommend it, noting you should watch out for gas issues. I recommend buying the 3 pound bag initially rather than the larger bag so you don't end up with a lot of food that you don't want to use.

My daughter purchased this cat food at a local pet store. It is available at brick-and-mortar pet stores and a variety of online vendors. Current prices for the 3 pound bag appear to be around $10 on sale online.
