Pros Mops your floors using clean water instead of a dirty mop bucket! Cool idea.
Cons a little expensive - fine if it worked, but it didn't work for very long.......

The Scooba from iRobot

9/24/2007 Update: The Scooba 5900s are not being made anymore. Mine stopped working altogether after many months of having a low battery function. I would charge it and the charge only lasted for a few minutes. Eventually it stopped turning on altogether. Irobot has... Read full review »

Pros Time saver, does an amazing cleaning job
Cons somewhat noisy, pricey

I finally decided to try the famous Scooba that everyone was talking about. I was afraid at first, especially when I found out it cost $300-$400. I bought mine for $300 at Sam's Club. Boy am I glad I did. This is the best investment I've ever made. It vacuums, scrubs, mops and dries all in one... Read full review »

Pros Effectively, effortless cleans floors.
Cons Loud.

If you were fascinated to watch your Roomba prowl your floors, just wait until you see Scooba in action! After ten uses, I am still mesmerized by this robot! I bought the Scooba to save time on my floor scrubbing, but I am not sure how much time I am saving since I catch myself staring at it so... Read full review »

The fun that comes with remodeling an entire home is the fun of cleaning up!! Top to bottom, corner to corner, I am knee deep in the midst of a mini-hurricane!

Luckily for me, I have the iRobot 5900 Scooba Robotic Wet/Dry Vacuum! We are tearing apart the house we have lived in for over 12... Read full review »

Clever technology, but too many bugs in it.

Pros Cleverly engineered floor cleaning device
Cons Unfortunately, I had too many problems with it to keep using it
Recommended it? No

Since I'm a gadget geek, and I hate cleaning floors, I bought the Scooba last year in the hopes this would help in both of these things. Scooba, by the makers of the vacuuming robot Roomba (but, despite what Saturday Night Live said, not a feminine hygiene robot called Woomba!), is supposed to... Read full review »

Pros Effortless floor maintenance
Cons The noise- a Cacophonous aural assault every time it goes to work.
Recommended it? Yes

Yes, it can get stuck occasionally and the price seems just a bit high- at first.

This is a superbly engineered product, it has some of the highest build quality I have ever seen in any device and is a thoroughly thought out piece.

I wasn't sure how it would handle a rough slate... Read full review »

The scooba is my new best friend! Since discovering the scooba about a year and a half ago I have fallen in love. I enjoy just sitting and watching my scooba do all the dirty work while I relax with my feet up. I actually take pleasure in watching it clean my hard floors and am fascinated in how it... Pros Does a pretty decent job of general cleaning in wide open spaces.
Cons Not great in tight spaces. Gets caught easily. Must use their own detergent.
Recommended it? Yes

I've been seeing the various iRobot devices for sale, and always wondered how well they worked. My suspicion was always that my apartment was too crowded for the vacuums to work properly, and they were a bit expensive for my wallet. When I saw the Scooba wet/dry machine on sale for half price, I... Read full review »

Pros Cleans and scrubs the floor, it's a robot, easy to use, looks cool, customizable.
Cons Noisy, you must use their solution.
Recommended it? Yes

Sorry, I could not help myself. As a Geek I love robots. I also own a Roomba. I just bought my Scooba at Sharper Image for $299. It seems that Brookstone has lowered their price so the Sharper Image lowered theirs. They informed me that this price reduction could be temporary since it was not... Read full review »

this beta version is not good enough to be useful

Pros looks cool; is fun to watch
Cons unreliable; needs lots of maintenance; doesn't work as promised
Recommended it? No

I bought Scooba 5900 a year ago. This device can mop only one room at a time, and, unlike Roomba, it requires maintenance both before and after each cycle. Before the cleaning, you need to detach the tank, pour the solution and water, and attach it back. After the cleaning, you need to detach the... Read full review »
