A fun vacuum cleaner

Toy, or practical device?
I had heard about the Roomba series back in 2005; to me it
seemed a bit of a lark, since vacuum cleaners try to use
raw horsepower, so using some contraption that runs on

cute but not cuddly
At first we liked the Roomba a lot. It was almost entertaining to see the thing randomly run about the room.
