iRiver SlimX CD & MP3 player - A solid workhorse gracefully going out to pasture
Before the days of inexpensive hard drive based MP3 players, there was a line of MP3 players that were CD based. Since was the far more economical way of storing music because of instead of paying $500 for a gig, I could pay half that for roughly 700 Megs multiplied by however many CDs I could... Slim X is a great player
I've had my i-river Slim X for a few months now and really love it. I haven't had any problems at all and once I got used to operation of the unit it's been clear sailing.
I would recommend this player to anyone considering a CD based MP3 player.
The only area that could use...

Not Durable
I purchased this unit as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. The unit was great at the beginning, tons of features, great looks. After 6 months, the unit stopped recognizing disk for no apparent reason. IRiver replaced the unit under warranty with a refurbished unit and a defective remote. Since I... Read full review »
Good player but not Durable!
I got this cd player about 2 years ago. I decided on a cd/mp3 player because I didnt want to spend the $500 on an ipod and I also liked the idea of not having a fixed amount of space for storing music. I researched the features I wanted and decided on this iriver. I was very satisfied during the 2... Read full review »
Good and bad player
I've had mine for about 2 years. Very solid. I've treated it like crap and it hasn't really lost any steam. The sound quality is pretty good and the real metal shell is really classy. One problem is that because its so thin it can't take AA batteries in the actual unit. If you want to have the unit... Read full review »
How Can My Experience Be SO DIFFERENT?
Geez, what great reviews on this product on Epinions. My experience has been slightly different. The bottom line (in my opinion) is this: if you're going to be moving around (exercising, painting, doing other chores) that involve motion, don't waste your money on this player. The i-350 boasts... It's a steal!
First of all, I like to say that I am a music enthusiast. That being said, I love my new Iriver SlimX 350. I have so many mp3 disks and I wanted something to play what I already had burned and not have to mess with Flash players. I also have a Sony Psyc/NF400, which I recently purchased only... Not that great
I don't know what all the rave is about. My worked fine, but it was a pain to have the battery and the display outside of the player -- feels like some the guts are hanging out of the body. The designer also try to fit too many functions into just a few button and if you push the wrong button the... Read full review »
Excellent model for music enthusiasts, too complex for occasional listeners
I bought iRiver Slim X iMP-350 for two reasons: design and positive reviews. Now when I got the unit, I don't think I would've ordered it again. Don't take me wrong: it is a great CD/MP3/etc player and if you are a music enthusiast, you may really like it. My problem is that I don't use it very... Read full review »
One Of the Best CD players for the money
I like to consider myself an audiophile on a budget; very picky about how my music and movies sound, yet a don't have a bunch of money to spend on high end audio equipment. I've been through countless CD players over the past 6 years, all of which either had defects, broke, had poor sound quality,... Read full review »
Absolutely Unbeatable...
~~ Intro ~~
I've never really loved any of my past CD players...but this thin piece of technology has won my heart & changed the way I listen to music. Complete with an intuitive electroluminescent backlit remote, this super-portable device gives you the power to keep playing your old CDs...

What you need to know about the Skip Protection
Good product. Thumbs up
Before purchasing I was confused by the contradictions i was reading from reviewers in regards to the skip protection. I decided to purchase the imp350 and I'm very happy with it. My experience is that the skip protection is poor when playing standard audio discs...

My iMP-350 saved my sanity
I bought my iRiver 350 six months ago and haven't regretted it a bit. It is a must have on my daily hour long bus commute to work. I just kick back and listen to my favorite artists or listen to books on CD and wait for the bus to drop me off. The remote takes a bit of a learning curve but basic... Read full review »
Best Portable Audio Device Ever.
I don't think I could ever live without this machine. I truthfully go everywhere with it. The convenient size, storage space, and amazing features make this player a great buy. I think one of the best features is it's ability to play MP3 formatted files.

Near perfect portable CD player
Whether or not you use mp3/wma or not, this is the last portable CD player you'll need. Numerous and intuitive controls allow you to simplify your listening experience as much as you as you want (you don't need the remote control), or complicate things with a staggering array of features (you can... Excellent discman based MP3 / WMA player
This device does everything I wanted: reads normal CDs, plus supports CD-Rs with MP3s and WMA files. It has a built in FM tuner, a great toggle-wheel based remote that fully reads MP3 tags & directory system. The remote is fully featured, and has more options than my home audio receiver remote!... For this price, nothing can come close
it's difficult to decide what kind of personal audio player to buy with so many different types on the market. it seems like an average cd-player that does nothing else just no longer cuts it, and the reason why is because of machines like this.
it's easy to sum up what is so good about...

Best CD/MP3 Player I've tried!
One day I was looking through my collection of mp3s and I thought, wow I really need a mp3 player of some sort. I have always liked the MP3/CD player concept, so I looked into those. At one point, I stumbled across the CD player I am going to review here. This player was the iRiver SlimX 350. I... Read full review »
iRiver SlimX- Now This Is What You Call A Potable CD Player!
I am no portable CD player novice, and I was very picky about what I wanted when I was looking for my new portable CD player. Each time I thought I found what I wanted, it turned out to be missing something. I wanted CD/MP3 capability, CD-RW readability, AM/FM stereo tuner, long battery life, and... Read full review »
Like Everybody else is saying-THIS IS THE BEST!!!
Last Fall I realized something whiles shopping for a new CD/MP3 player in NYC. Most of what the main brands (Sony, Aiwi, JVC, Panasonic) were offering were flashy, trendy players that were only on the shelves to make a profit for the manufactures. I researched almost everything on the market and I... Read full review »
