Ilo DVDR04 and DVDR05 is junk
Bought a ILO DVDR04 and it stopped working shortly after the warranty was up, Didn't learn from that so went and bought a ILO DVDR05 and it stopped working too shortly after warranty was up. It's not like I used it a lot both of them were used very little only a few times is what is the bad, I will... Read full review »
Good enough for the price for playing DVDs
We bought this late in 2006. We decided to get the RW so that we could record as well as just play DVDs but I have not had any success at getting it to record. Granted I have not spent a great deal of time on it because I get frustrated and give up after a while but it seems to me it should be... Read full review »
iLO DVDR05 DVD Recorder
I have had my iLO DVDR05 for almost two years now and love it. The only problem I ever had involved updating the firmware. All I did was call the company and they emailed me a file that I burned onto a cd and then installed it on the dvd recorder. We use it numerous times every week and the only... Read full review »
Don't Lose Your Remote Control When Purchasing This DVDR!
I found the DVD Recorder to be no problem to operate, and have used it to record for 6 to 8 hours at a time about once a week for nearly two years now, and have not had one problem until I lost the remote, or it was stolen by someone who had lost theirs!
I have purchased, and returned...

Not really that good
Does not playback DVDs very well, I can't get through more than 12% of my DVDs without having some issue. It's getting replaced this weekend. It also takes forever to do anything with the remote, there is like a 1 second delay between pushing the button and it responding, making it frequently go... Read full review »
Great at first, Problems 2 days later
Great Player when it just plays back DVDs. However, when I went to test it out on how well it records, I had problems. I recorded about 8 different clips with EP mode, three of which were 1 hour long and the rest less than 15 min. I had edited the first 5 titles with ease, but when I went to edit... OK for the price, but you get what you pay for.
The quality of recordings is rather good... only one problem, they don't play back on older players. I tested several DVDs, a few brands of DVD blanks, and even a few different firmware versions in the unit itself including the newest version sent by customer service that is not even available on... Affordable DVD recorder for the home entertainment system
In mid-2005 I was in the market for a DVD recorder. Unfortunately a lot of the models at that time were priced WAY out of my league. More importantly, though, I required a model that offered a an IEEE 1394 (aka FireWire or iLink) connection so that I could record from my Sony Handicam DCR-TRV 260... Read full review »
Piece of ilo crap
This ilo dvd recorder is a piece of crap.I have wasted a lot of time and money trying to copy my old VHS tapes only to have the unit start pausing during recording.Often it is due to a "poor signal strength"even though I am using gold cables. This also happens when recording from my DVR which should... DVDR04 ilo recorder
This inexpensive dvd recorder seemed perfect for my budget so I jumped in and bought it. There is something to be said for you get what you pay for, because right after the warranty was up the thing self-destructed and in a years time I had only burned about 12 dvds! Don't expect to get any... Read full review »
Not bad for my First Time
This is my first DVD recorder, so I have nothing to compare it to. I was looking for another DVD player for another room but didn't want to spend a lot. I looked on the net for some and found Wal-Mart had a good looking one. I thought I would drop in to compare them on the shelf.
I found...

Stay Away from this one.
We bought this unit at the end of 2005 as a general purpose DVD player and to eventually convert some of our older VHS-C stuff to DVD...we never got around to that.
After about 5 months of use (watching on average 2 DVDs a week) this unit has all but stopped working. You can put any disc...

Not a bad machine
So far I have had minimal problems. A couple of times the DVD has skipped, but that was easily solved by hitting the rewind button.
I was not aware that the TV tuner was not in stereo. I have my Ilo hooked up to my stereo TV with RCA cables. And I use another set of RCA cables to input...

Look for DVDR05MU1 version
I purchased one of these from WalMart, model DVDR05MU manufacture date January 2006.
I had researched online before purchasing the unit & I thought by getting the newest manufacture date that I'd be able to bypass most of the issues I had read about... wrong!
Installation was...

An improved DVD Recorder, ILO DVDR05 MU1
I made sure to find a model marked MU1 after reading reviews online. This recorder is replacing a GoVideo Recorder that only lasted 1 year and 4 months before it failed. I can say from experience that this recorder has a lot of improvements from recorders available a year ago.
I use 1...

Good but had early death
My initial review rated this as a good machine, however 1 month after the warranty expired, so did the unit. So you may want to consider another DVD recorder with a little better quality and get an extended warranty. Read full review »
RECORDED DVDs SOMETIMES PLAY, SOMETIMES DON'T
ON MY 5TH ILO DVD05 FROM WALMART, IT'S WORKING PRETTY WELL BUT THE RECORDED AND FINISHED DVDs SOMETIMES PLAY IN OTHER DVD PLAYERS, SOMETIMES DON'T.
THEY ALL PLAYBACK WELL ON THE ILO.
ILO TECH SERVICE SAID TO USE SONY BRAND, AVOID MEMOREX - EVEN THOUGHT THE "HELP" SAYS MEMOREX...

Does what I need
I did several hours of 'net research for reviews on this model. There were two extreme camps: Great and Awful. The awful camp seemed to have faulty units out of the box and early production runs, so I took a chance at WalMart. I have an HDTV monitor, so I use the TV tuner for that, as well as the... uncertain about this ilo dvd recorder
I bought this unit about two weeks ago. It worked very well until a couple of days ago and then I started to get errors on all my recordings. It is annoying to record a show and then not be able to watch it.
Moving from screen to screen on the menu is confusing and you can only set the...

Stay away from this thing
Let me start off by saying that I am no technology newbie. I was programming Dad's VCR back in the day before all the on-screen display and stuff. I know my way around home electronics. Let me also say that I know my way around computers as well.
The first ILO DVDR05/MU1 I bought I got at...
