The Best Deals On Xbox 360 First Person Shooters

The first person shooter is one of the most popular genres of games.  Here are a few must have shooters for the Xbox 360 which are available for a low price from Shopping.com.

When the Xbox 360 was released, many games immediately purchased it assuming that it would be the home of the first person shooter.  After all, that was the case with the original Xbox.

The 360’s competitors have had some tremendous games, but tradition has for the most part held true.  First person shooter or FPS fans can get a lot of tremendous gaming out of the 360, often without spending very much money.

Here’s a look at a few of the best cheap first person shooter games that the Xbox 360 has to offer.

Halo 3 - For thrilling online play and a solid single player campaign, there's really no substitute for a good Halo game.  Halo made the original Xbox a contender in North American markets, and it’s credited with numerous innovations that revitalized the first person shooter genre.

Halo 3 is arguably the most balanced entry in the franchise, and combines high-res graphics with a fantastic story.  It's also very cheap, as it came out several years ago; unlike its prequel Reach, Halo 3 costs a little over twenty bucks, and the price will continue to drop.  Every first person shooter fan should own this great entry in the long-running Xbox 360 franchise.

Bioshock – In any “are games art?” argument, Bioshock inevitably comes up.  It’s definitely more of a vessel for deep thought and philosophy than most gamers are used to, with its Rayndian themes and complex storyline.  It’s also a whole lot of fun.  Bioshock gives gamers the customization that they want in a good FPS, and it’s replayable, too.  Those aren’t common traits of a first person shooter.

Bioshock and its sequels are examples of the best of the first person shooter, and they’re must-plays for any gaming fan whether or not you agree with the message that the game tries to get across.

The Orange Box - The Orange Box includes Half Life 2 and its sequel episodes.  If you’ve been living under a rock, Half Life 2 is an amazing first person shooter with fast-paced action and unbelievable physics.  It has aged a bit since it first premiered, but it’s still as fun as ever, and although the graphics may look a bit old at this point, you won’t notice after a few minutes of gaming.  The only problem with the Orange Box is that we’re still waiting for Episode 3 of the series, and it makes the wait all the more unbearable.

The Orange Box also includes Team Fortress and the incredible puzzler Portal.  Neither of these are actually first person shooter games, but they’re more than nice extras.  They’re fully fledged gaming experiences that you’ll enjoy and replay.  Don’t be surprised when you waste a few weeks working through the Orange Box.

Call Of Duty: World At War – Jump into the Call of Duty franchise for a lower entry price than you’d need for Modern Warfare 2.  World at War is a great entry in the series that battle-hardened FPS fans should enjoy, and a worthy addition to any collection of Xbox 360 games.  It’ll set you back about twenty bucks, and the online multiplayer alone makes it worth its price.
