Top 10 Foot Moisturizers

I soak, file, and moisturize my feet almost every evening, so I've tried almost every foot lotion, potion, cream, and moisturizer that is available.  Many of them are losers, but I've managed to find some good products over the years.  Here are my favorites in no particular order:

some of my favorites

1) SKINDECENT SOLE RELIEF FOOT BALM: This product is a super-rich and super-thick foot balm that hydrates, smoothes, and softens even the roughest and driest of feet.  It is sold only online from a Canadian etailer at $5.99 per 2 ounce jar.  It is a bit pricey and you may have to wait a couple of weeks to receive it, but it is totally worth the cost and the wait! I always buy it with the Eucalyptus/Spearmint fragrance oils and WOW! It leaves my feet not only moisturized but also with a lovely cooling and tingly sensation.

2) BURT'S BEES HONEY AND BILBERRY FOOT LOTION: I've been using this particular foot lotion for several years now.  I really love both the yummy honey/bilberry fragrance and the way that this stuff really coats, absorbs into, and softens my feet, especially the heels.  It used to be difficult to find the Burt's Bees line, but these days it is stocked in the local Target and independent drug stores.  A 3.38 fluid ounce tube costs between $8 and $9 so this isn't a particularly cheap product, but it is certainly worth the expense.

3) PROFOOT HEEL RESCUE FOOT CREAM: I recently discovered this one at the local grocery store for just $4 and I am now a huge fan! This cream looks loose and like it can't possibly moisturize your feet... until you use it and then you are totally impressed at the performance.  This stuff comes in a large 16 ounce jar so it is very inexpensive compared to most of the other pedicure products that I use.  This is an item that I will always keep on hand.

4) LUSH PIED DE PEPPER: I love this foot lotion because it is spiced up with cinnamon and it warms feet as it hydrates them.  It is sold only in LUSH company stores or online at $15 for a 3.5 ounce jar so I buy it only occasionally when I have some extra cash or I happen to actually be in front of a company shop.  I do have a warning about this product, though: it can and will stain the socks that you put on your feet after applying this Pied de Pepper lotion, so use your oldest and ugliest ones with this item.

5) BURT'S BEES COCONUT FOOT CREME: This is one of my go-to products for feet that are totally dried out, cracked, and basically a disaster.  It contains many oils and butters to hydrate skin, but that also means that it is very greasy item that not everyone will like.  I use it only occasionally because my feet are usually in good condition and, as I said, it gets pretty greasy and messy.  Still, if you have feet that are totally tired, dry, and cracked, this stuff will whip them into shape in no time.

6) BOOTS BOTANICS FOOT BUTTER: I discovered this item at the local Target a couple of years ago and I've been hooked on it ever since.  A little goes a long way and it hydrates feet while also leaving them feeling cool and tingly.  I haven't ever seen it sold anywhere else locally, but it is available online if you don't have a Target in your area.

7) BATH AND BODY WORKS SHEA IT ISN'T SO FOOT CREAM: I didn't love this foot cream at first, but after trying so many other total failures I realized that it was very good.  The herbal fragrance was what put me off, but I've gotten over that.  This is a very rich and hydrating foot cream that is perfect for people with dry, cracked heels.  It costs about $15 for 4 ounces which isn't a nice price, but it is worth the expense and I do make a point of buying it every few months to keep in my pedicure product rotation.

8) LUSH FAIR TRADE FOOT LOTION: This is a foot moisturizer that not only hydrates skin but ensures that the workers who produce the essential nut oils and butters are fairly compensated for their work.  It is alarmingly bright pink, but it does a nice job of moisturizing and cooling feet.  At first I thought it was too thin to actually do anything, but I've learned over time that this is a really great foot lotion.  It hydrates, refreshes, and deodorizes all in one go.  An 8 ounce jar costs $22 plus shipping so I only buy it about once a year and then savor it during every use.  Oh and this stuff will also permanently stain your socks so put on a really old and ugly pair after applying it!

9) BURT'S BEES PEPPERMINT FOOT LOTION: I initially didn't think that I'd like this foot lotion because it was so thin... and then I actually applied it to my feet.  It isn't as hydrating as the Honey and Bilberry or Coconut foot products, but it makes up for that by producing a delightful cooling and tingling sensation.  When I've had a long day and want to treat myself, I go for this Peppermint Foot Lotion because it invigorates my feet which is a sensation that I really enjoy.

10) DR SCHOLL'S FOR HER FOOT SOFTENING BALM: This one is probably #10 in my Top 10 Foot Moisturizers.  I use it often because it is easy to find, inexpensive, and a little goes a long way.  I like to have a variety of products to use, so this one finds its way into the lineup often because the price is nice and it is easy to find.  That being said, it is very thick and does a nice job of hydrating and softening dry, cracked heels and feet.  I don't love the scent and it gets kind of funky as you work it into skin, but it still is one of the better foot moisturizing products that I've used.
